Guess who got caught speeding today…
Yep. They got me. Ticket is for 80 in a 55. I knew I was speeding, did not think it was that much, I thought it was a 70mph zone. Obviously not…
So. I’m going to call monday about defensive driving school, so it gets cleared off my record and insurance doesn’t go up.
It was one of the cheating cops too. The one with the lights inside the car. So unfair. I deserved it, but still. 😛
I was kinda lucky however. I was going to the shooting range to do a match. Since I was doing the match, and shooting a friends rifle that I was meeting there, I didn’t have any guns in the car. I don’t even want to know when he asked “do you have any weapons in the vehicle” what would have happened when I started naming off my arsenal. 😛
But yeah. Go ahead and pick on me. I deserve it. 😛

Over here is called ‘causing an obstruction’ Get caught going that slow here you are pulled over, dragged out of your car, beaten half to death with night sticks and then have to watch your wheels being crushed by a mobile wrecker.
WE FCUKIN WISH 😈
Hey Guys…… do ya think that just once….. maybe just once….. that a Cop would pull some dimwit over that is driving in the left lane of the Freeway that is a hazard to navigation by yapping on the cell phone, doing 10-15 MPH UNDER the posted limit? Just fucking once? I have never seen that happen in 32 years of driving. Not picking on you Triggs… not my intent. But shouldn’t that be a traffic offfense as well? I take my driving as serious as a Heart Attack. I don’t fuck around with cell phones, radio, etc. Shouldn’t I get some kind of reward for having had a damn clean record, no accidents, no fender benders, no nothing?
I am not a speeder! I am someone who takes driving ANY vehicle seriously. I guess the rest of the HUA (head up ass) drivers will continue to put the quarter in to get their license out of a bubble gum machine.

AAhhhh, encounters with the fuzz bird.
Habitat of the fuzz bird: Where least expected.
The state must need money pretty badly. Cops are setting LASER traps all over the place. I’m gonna get me a Valentine 1 tomorrow. I got nailed today for 79 in the Sti. Cop was hidden behind a non descript maroon car shooting over the roof towards oncoming traffic. I gotta say…. I never knew he was there due to his non existant profile. Fuck it… I can play that game too.
Been there, done that. Went head on on my motor cycle with a mini van. Got a blue wheel chair on my license plate for my troubles. You want to get slapped hard? Get caught speeding in a commercial rig. A rumor around these parts is if you have a class A license .02 is D.U.I. whether in commercial vehicle or private. New laws that just came out are strict.
Ninj, please check out Rotten.com for pictures of Motorcycle riders that had accidents and were not protected by a helmet. The photos are gross. Anyways….about 25 years or so ago I was witness to the after math of aguy laying on the sidewalk after having gone down on his bike. Sad thing is is that his chin bore the brunt of the damage as I could only guess that he had gotten launched face first at high speed. His chin was ground down by the asphalt until it was non existent. I mean that literally. It was like his chin was ground down by an industrial sander and there was nothing left but his lower lip. Nasty man, real nasty.
Don’t sweat it. Had a bunch of them back in the day. Speeding tickets are a joke. A joke in the sense that it is nothing more than an addittional TAX on driving. Municipalities KNOW that this is an easy way to draw income. Here is why: Anyone that works for a living will pay the fine, in order to retain their driver’s licence, and keep their job. The Cops know if they hand out a zillion tickets to hardworking taxpayers the fines will be paid, and they will get a big pat on the back. Modern vehicles are capable of cruising on the freeways at 80-90MPH. It is not a safety issue. It is strictly a Monetary thing.
I’ll give you an example: Here in Hawaii I have a big Dodge Ram 4×4. If I get pulled over without my seat belt on I will pay a fine of $192.00. But here in the Peoples Republic of Rip- Off Hawaii there are no helmet laws for motorcycles. I see Bikers cruising around at some insane speeds and it is completely Legal to do so without wearing a helmet. If they are preaching safety(which they are) then it is a big joke. What is safer.. my Dodge with air bags, or a motorcycle rider with a passenger, both without helmets? It will get worse before it gets better.

The helmet law is to protect the Biker… helmets if anything would cause more personal injury and property damage to others in a collision. I’d rather a biker leave a stain on the side of my truck with the insides of their head than your Dodge Ram, Ram my truck off one of those nice mountain roads you have out there.

I agree. much respect to law enforcement personnel, they are dong their job, enforcing the laws as written. and they have a tough job.
Now on the other hand, the beaurocrats, legislators, and politicians who make the laws and havn’t the first ounce of common sense, except for what generates votes or money……………..they can kiss my ass.
My post was in no way shape or form intended to show any disrespect to the hard working men & women of law enforcement. I do appreciate the sacrifices they make to keep America safe.

In some states you can call the court clerk and ask for a NOLO or “no contest” plea to be entered on your behalf without going to court. The result is you pay your fine but the ticket does not go on your driving record (we all know “traffic enforcement” is mostly more like “revenue enforcement”) as long as they get paid the fine, many times they don’t give a flip if you get points on your license or not.
When you call the court clerk, maybe a little “yes sir/mam i was going a little too fast and i don’t mind paying the fine, but is there any way i can pay my fine and keep this off my driving record so my insurance doesn’t go up, i can barely afford it as it is now” or something to that effect.
I’ve gotten my share of those. Last one being 90 in a 70. It was a friday after college and I was on my way back home. 😳
I use this website for defensive driving and I recommend it. It’s the most boring thing you could ever do, but it’s cheap, easy, and at your convenience.

Call it a right in passage.
I was 18 when I got my first speeding ticket for doing 46 in a 35. Went to court, judge asked: “how do you plead?” I replied “Guilty” He then asked “Do you have an explanation?” “Yes, I was returning to work after lunch on a two lane road and wanted to pass a Low-rider before the road narrowed to one lane. When the cop light me up I had already resumed the speed limit” Judge rolled his eyes and replied “$5 fine, $5 court cost” This was in 1975 so it was liked being whipped with a wet noodle. Those of use old enough to remember the Low-rider culture will understand why I did that. Oh and I was living in California at the time.
You can do driving school on the internet. It does not cost much and it saves you from spending the day in school.
Look up the court where your ticket was issued and go on line to see if they have a list off online schools you can do.
Out here that is a $300 ticket.
Cheaper to do the speed limit.

Hey Harry, We ought to make it like Germany, there the fast lane is ONLY to be used to pass.
