Q:

Gunpower Pump Help Needed

Hi guys and greetings from Scotland 🙂

I was directed here from a UK based forum after being told you are the experts on the Gunpower pump.
Mine is only a few months old and has developed a problem.
Once the pressure builds up slightly it won’t draw air in on the upstroke !

Yes I know I should have bought a Hills pump or a bottle but this was the only pump the shop had 🙂

Can anyone guide me through stripping it down checking and lubing so I can soldier on whilst savingt up for a bottle 🙂

The description is
Gunpower three stage high pressure hand pump model GP210

Flogging a dead horse mate. The AF pumps are shite.

As it happens I have a nice nearly new Hills pump with drypac for sale if you are interested…

quote LURKER #1:

Oh hey, it just came to me 💡

Just hand tighten it holding the outer cylinder with one hand and turn the handle clockwise.

I have been fiddling with this part to get it working, loosening it pulling the internals up and down and then gradually re-tightening it.
I want to check everything else because the next time I go to use it the same thing happens.

One problem with the AF pump that I fixed myself was like yours.
The big bushing on the top of the outer cylinder that the handle screws into loosened a bit on one of the pumps I got from AF.

Just hand tighten it holding the outer cylinder with one hand and turn the handle clockwise.

good luck. remember, miracles never cease…

it’s the one listed under accessories on this page, and not exactly like the one in the diagram but similar.
Working nightshift all this weekend but may have a go at it on Monday.

my pos AF pump is beginning to do the same thing, my advice is to either go SCUBA/SCBA or save for a hill. if i tear mine down and successfully rebuild it ill let you know…

If that pump is an Airforce pump it is likely the POS that SunOptics in Texas is producing or having built. They appear to be made rather poorly
hope that is not the case with yours but I would be betting it is ‘Airforce’

Walter….

Hey it’s you 🙂
Aye, thats a start as it looks similar. Could do with the parts descriptions and what lube to use, if any.

Glad you found it mate,

Not the same pump but similar set up here http://TalonAirgun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2048

Might help along the way.
