Guppy’s 1st use
Received Guppy tank from Joe Brancato yesterday. I’m probably a couple weeks from getting my Shoebox compressor so, what to do ❓
Local township FD was beyond approach but referred me to Lima Fire Equipment Co. Lima Fire Equip. co. filled it from empty to 4500 PSI for $22.57. The fellow said a refill will be around $10. That would be a good deal but I’ll probably have my Shoebox before I need a refill.

SHOEBOX Compressor to Puppy.
1st pressure test for ShoeBox.
Lima Fire Equipment gave me a GOOD 4500 PSI fill.
The ShoeBox only took a couple minutes to fill the hose and shut off at 4550 then settled to 4525.
This was only an initial test. I got a doesy of a cold and continuous bad weather in NW Ohio.
Damn it, I’m ready to shoot anything…a lot of times ❗ ❗

You might consider a K9 type jacket to protect those big cat’s vitals and get an extra couple hundred .177 rounds of use before they bleed out.
If there is a steady supply of Big Cats to rescue, you could start a Big Cat Hunting Reserve.
If you run out of Big Cats after a few seasons, you could get Big Money from the Toxic Waste Super Find to reclaim all the lead. It would be easy, just dig up the expired Big Cats and melt them down. 😆

I love my small Pygmee tank, it is only half the size of yours and I only get 3 or 4 fills, depending where I am at on the remaining PSI when I decide to do it.
I bought a 44cuft tank, a old fire dept one that had a year or two left on it and then waited for a couple months before I got the hose.
The thing is I had the Shoebox so it really did not matter, I just never ran out of air.
I finally filled the 30 minute tank, but still have not used it.
Yes increased pellet usage is the draw back of unlimited air, I really go thru the lead now, I shoot the Airarcher more now too, it is really a air hog.
My Shoebox is difficult to get past 4200PSI, but after I decided it did not matter if it went to 4200 or 4500 I got over it, it is still free air and I do not need to lift those heavy tanks and drive 20 miles one way and pay 10 bucks to fill them. You can get a shut off valve that will shut it off at exactly 4500 if you wish.
Your going to love the Shoebox.
As far as yote hunting and tracking them, that is the wonderful thing about the small tanks, you can keep shooting the wounded animals and refilling as you go. I Just joined the ABCAS, (American Big Cat Adoption Society) and will be getting two rescue Bengal Tigers at the end of the month.
We still have snow here in Oregon and I am looking forward to trailing them and shooting them as I go, nothing like watching a big animal jump as you maim it. I figure the first one will be a learning experience, but I will have my cell phone and I can have the wife meet me with the 44 cuft tank and more pellets if I run out during the hunt, after all at our age a guy can only pack so many pellets.
I may consider getting a 177 barrel just to make the hunt last longer, the initial cost could be off set by the fewer ABCAS adoption fees.

It’s fun how things work out. I wanted a handle and feet and only had a plastic handle I took off some kind of cardboard box. Two 18″ cable ties wouldn’t hold the flimsy handle an when I added 2 more I realized the cable tie locks could be the feet I wanted. A little positioning and one solution solved 2 problems.
If I ever find some bigger cable ties I’ll get a few just to have in case. The 18″ers are rated for max 5″ diameter and just barely fit over the 4 layers of rubber tool box liner from HF.

Decided to armor the Guppy.1/4″rubberwrap with carry handle and 4 feet to keep it from rolling off the table.
We have Sport Chalet stores that charge $5 per fill any tank up to 4500psi. $27 😯 that’s crazy! You are going to love your Shoebox. :thumb:
i go to a scuba place 5 min away for 3300 psi for 5 bucks, a scuba /paintball place for 4500psi like 20 miles away for 6 bucks , then there’s the paint ball only place like 3 miles away that i went to the first time for 7 dollars for 4500 so i thought cool it’s closer , well the second time i went back the owner i guess was there and he filled my 88 cu. ft. and said that will be 27.00 dollars 😯
So i said WHAT ! , the guy said 7 dollars before , no he says, this is what he should have charged, so i told him what i was paying else Ware, and he said nothing so that tells me he does not want my business. I just looked at him and left. no need in saying anything after that.
The Scuba guy charges me $4 and the guy at Ninja Paintball usually charges me $2-3, I asked him if he would fill a SCBA and he said if I have the foster adapter, no problem.
I don’y know…17cubic foot tank at 4500PSI= 10 refills from 2000 to 2600.
What does it cost at a dive shop?
I’m new to this multi fill SCBA tank stuff.
I know that I’ll go through a lot more pellets from now on and won’t have to do anymore pumping at the range or home.
Come to think about it, I’ll have to take up yote’n with my .177. Probably will need to do a lot of tracking…that’ll do it 😈 😈
