Q:

h&n barracudas compared to beeman kodiaks

has anyone tried these, if so how is the match up?

H&N Baracuda .22 Cal, 21.14 Grains w/ 5.5 head, or the
H&N Baracuda Match .22 Cal, 21.14 Grains w 5.51 head… or the
H&N Baracuda Match .22 Cal, 21.14 Grains w/ 5.53 head with the good old known jagged holler Beeman Kodiak Extra Heavy .22 Cal, 21.14 Grains w/ 5.5 head

I can’t imagine H&N is using different equipment to manufacture these. Within the same head size, I would think (I know, I’m ASSuming) they would be identical. Now the sorting, I could see that being an advantage.

I have done a lot of testing with the Baracuda, Baracuda Match, and Kodiak pellets in both 177 and 22 cal.

Without listing a bunch details, I’ll just say that what brand and head size works best is strictly to what the barrel likes.

Some guns like the Kodiaks better, and some like the Baracuda better.

Over all they are good pellets out of most PCP and worth the time to test when looking for the magic pellet.

My understanding was they were the same pellet 🙄
just a different label

The ‘Match’ pellets are supposed to have been ‘sorted’ for tighter weight and quality etc…..

GTBJ, I could have sworn I remember the Match being 5.52..??

…. left one 😉

the beemens are 5.5 in .22 the barracudas come in 5.5, 5.51, and 5.53

I know the 5.5 shoot good, just wondering if one of the other two might fit our barrels a wee bit better before ordering

I just pulled a HN Barracuda extra heavy and a Kodiak extra heavy
out of my lead stash
These are .25 though, both calipered at .2495
heres a pic, the Kodiak is on the ?…….

on the right

H&N Barracuda .22 Cal do great out of my Condor and my M-Rod loves them.

The match did just a little bit better at 50 yds. but worse at 35 yds.

Have shot the H&N Baras’ and Match.
Woiuld say the Match shot slightly better( tested at 50 yards) though this could have been purely pysc….physcoh…. all in me noggin.
