Hammer Bounce
I am new to the AirForce platform but not to air guns. I am seeing a lot of discussion on other forums about hammer bounce and how to fix it. Is it common for AirForce guns to have this problem and if so is there a quick fix. Like an o-ring under the top hat?

what happen with hammer bounce is the energy or momentum carried within hammer to open the tophat/valve is transferred to return spring and then when the valve closing, it transfer back to the hammer. usually this happens when you have such a heavy hammer with soft hammer spring, and stiff return spring eg in .177 valve. yes you can try to fix it with oring behind tophat which will help to absorb the blow from the hammer hence leaving enough to open the valve. but you have to chech with chrono too as this MIGHT alter the speed. if you use the long barrel, it depends on how much you shorten the open timing of the valve, it might close the valve before the pellet exited the barrel. IDEALLY, to achieve energy usage of a tank, you want the pressure behind the pellet stops increasing right before the pellet exited the barrel. this will give u the most fpe out of a tank.
back to hammer bounce, for a cheap tuning easy fix yes you can try the oring behind tophat. you can experiment with different thickness too. theres no fix size to what you have to use.
what cal and perhaps spec of gun? spring, hammer, etc? hope this helps. ta
