Q:

Hammer install

I have watched pandemic’s video on installing a tt anti slap hammer in a condor. Very informative and looks like it would be easy enough to do. I have only one question. In the video the condor is a 24 ” unshrouded barrel. The turn the barrel to line up the screw holes. My barrel will be down inside the shroud. You can not alighn by turnning the barrel. So how do you get the screw holes aligned?

I do coat my hammer with this when I service my rig. I just apply it, let it dry and install the hammer. Leaves NO residue!

Looks good.

Sorry for the crappy picture. You can get it at Lowes, Home Depot etc. good stuff!

I agree with Salticon! If you polish everything up, the only lubrication you really need is a little silicone grease on the breech o rings. While its apart it’s also a great time to put a mirror finish on the breech end of the barrel.
Too much lubrication in the gun and heavily lubed pellets make for a “muddy” mess when it’s time to do maintenance.

Thanks guys. I can see your point about lead dust combining with grease but I’m forever stripping my gun, cleaning before re-greasing, so she never gets a chance to get muddy, or messy.

Did you get on okay? The other thing you should do is grease the barrel bushings liberally, that will help them rotate and is a good idea anyway. :fishinghole:

no need if you polish the frame. personally id reframe from using any grease at all in the gun, even trigger assemble Tony runs them dry. Lead dust and grease make a awful mess of things.

Yes I did get it together ok. I just pushed the barrel thru till the bottom bushing showed in the power wheel slot the used a small Allen wrench turn it till it lined up with the hole in the shroud. Had more trouble getting the little screw for the power wheel lined up than the barrel bushing holes.

That’s the same procedure to use on a shrouded Talon SS with a 12″ barrel . A 1″ in diameter pipe or wooden dowel that is 12″ long will do the job .

FROM : THE BIRDMAN

Friction of the stick will be enough to twist it. I used a piece of 1″ PVC as a pusher on my Condor SS. No problems at all. “pre-align” as much as possible, push in, until you see the bushings through the holes, turn to align, install a screw and you’ll be done before you know it.

I can understand how to get the barrel back into the shroud. But how do you rotate the barrel to line up to the holes in the shroud when there is no barrel to get ahold of after it is in side the shroud? The end of the barrel is down inside the shroud about 8 inches!

Use a wooden dowel about 12″ long to push barrel in frame and line up barrel bushing holes…
