The “slap mod” is nothing more than something between the breech and hammer that absorbs some of the sound. To be effective, it has to be softer than the hammer or breech.
Being softer, it absorbs some of the energy being transmitted to the breech which in turn lessens valve movement which = less power.
Just get yourself a nagging wife who does not stop talking.
Very soon after you will no longer even care about hammer slap 😛
I am not a big advocate for the hammer slap because it does nothing for performance and only exist due to the sensitive ears of airgunners and it actually decreases the fps.
If the sound is really a big bother then by turning a slot into the back of the breech you can insert and glue in the hardest Oring you can find. That will help with the noise.
