Q:

Hammer Slap?

Hey Guys all over this planet 😉
Have still problems to get my Talon quite.Especially the hammer slap will be notisably all over the neighborhood.I did the o-ring -modat the breech slide, but it went not much better. Than i read something about some stuff wich can be wrapt around the tank or can be put in the tank to reduce vibrations .Does anybody has an idea what will work at best, or what i can do more at that gun?? (P.S. my silencer is o.k.)
Many greetings from europe: Arrow 😀

I don’t have the hammer-slap mod on my rifle. I was shooting my Condor in my driveway last weekend, my wife and dogs were in the back yard.

She said she could not hear the rifle, but could hear the pellet flying downrange and then the impact. I wasn’t sure if I should believe she could hear the pellet flying, so we switched places and she fired the rifle.

All I could hear was ‘zzzZZZTtttttTHWAK”. Ill leave it up to you to spell what it sounds like, but the pellet definitely made a very unfriendly sounding ZZZTT sound during flight, and even more unfriendly THWAK on impact.

My point is, I couldn’t hear the rifle at all but you cant make those other 2 sounds go away.

The pellets were Kodiaks leaving the muzzle at 965fps and striking an Oak tree at 100 yards.

you should have a friend shoot it as you walk away, I found the hammer slap and tank ping is much louder in your ear than it is just 10 feet away. you neighbors are more likely going to hear the impact than the hammer.

I took an old pair of boots and harvested some leather and used an xacto knife and cut it to fit the face of the hammer as to not obstruct the inner diameter, super glue and its silent, literally

How about Dynamat. That’s what is advertised to do.
