Hammer spring adjustment
My cricket is shooting at 940 FPS with 25.6 Exacts, my question is, how much could i expect to slow it down via the HST adjustment? Also, is this a good idea? I would like to get down around 900 FPS for more shot count and maybe a bit quieter. The reason i ask about the HST adjuster is because I have read about keeping the regulator and HS in scyned, pretty sure i misspelled that. I am sure someone can set me straight. Thanks in advance.

Ville is right. To do it right you should lower the reg pressure. You could mess with the speeds and when you find what you’re looking for then go in and lower the reg pressure. It will be more consistent that way

You should instead adjust the regulator to the pressure required to achieve your target speed. Then adjust the valve spring to match and when those things are set the hammer spring tension will work as a fine tuner and not have much effect to the power anymore. Once there you have the best accuracy, least deviation and highest shot count with that particular power level.
You should be able to go quite low with HST adjustment if you need to. I set mine to 500 fps often for blinking. Can even go lower but start losing consistency. I am not aware of a disadvantage but others may know better.

Ville, once you get the ideal regulator pressure and ideal speed, do you see any disadvantage of lowering the tension with HST to get lower speed for blinking and higher shot count; and then bringing the speed back to the ideal for hunting or target shooting? Would doing this often have any impact on the ideal zone?
