Hammer Spring
I am thinking of putting a different hammer spring into my SS, something just a little bit stiffer than my stock spring, which has a wire gauge of .060. I was thinking perhaps something in the .070-.080 range, just to give the hammer a little more oomph. I have tried the local hardware stores, and all of the springs are either too small or too stiff. Does anyone have any suggestions about where I could purchase such a spring?

I’m getting low to mid 900’s with 12″ barrel, Selph/Blodnob valve, stock spring, condor hammer weight, with Kodiaks in .22 cal.
Hey Riff, in your experience, what’s the max. Fps. for 21.1 Kods. out of the 12″ barrel?
If you are running a 12″ barrel, you are wasting your time. Your only going to waste air if you open the valve more.

I bet your more limited with the SS of yours in your tank valve… The valves are very limiting when you get right down to it… I don’t like driving them harder with stiffer springs either. Been there done that one and there is better ways to get there… Let me ask, you using a stock Talon valve in your tank???
Found one, put it in, no increase in speed, even with a heavier hammer. I guess I just need to fill my scuba tank, and see what kind of difference that makes. If that doesn’t do it, I’m stumped…

find th ereturn spring for a Williams chemical pump. Stretch it out to 5″ and then put it in a toaster oven for an hour at 375F
makes a great hammer spring 🙂
