Q:

Hammers

I’m new to all this and I have a condor.. After looking at all the hammers made.. It maybe a off the wall question, but could the hammer be designed like a deadblow hammer and would there be any advantage? Broke my humerus so nothing much I can do , but to bug all of you.. No hunting this year.. Not funny at all, and does it mean I have broke my sense of hurmor?

So I been shootig off my bench I built, from the computer room into the backyard where I have a target out at a 100 feet.. Doing good but what a pain .. Thanks WOK for getting me on this forum…

I was kinda toying with the idea of a dead blow hammer in my mind. We used the same theory for bows back when I had the Archery shop in Killeen Tx.

Yep,

Theoben uses it in the Rapid hammers. Its a small weight with a nipple on it and a small spring that fits around the nipple. It is then placed inside the hammer towards the front of it. There is then a washer placed on top of all of that and then the guns MAINSPRING sits on top of that washer which in turn holds the hammer debounce device taut in its place. As the hammer slams forward to hit the valve stem, the hammer bebounce device also slams home to keep the hammer from bouncing back therfore making the gun MORE efficient.

The pic of the hammer debounce device is on page 2 of this link:

It takes alot to break a humerus…it’s usually people who are in car crashes. Welcome to the madhouse and get well soon.

Make sure the back door is open when shooting. 🙄 Sorry you had to break something to get you on TAG. Anyhoo, :tag: :8:
