Q:

Hand pump users…

How many pumps from empty does it take? What about from 2000 up to 2900 or so? Also how long does it take with breaks included? Thanks!

I weigh 140 and can get my hill pump to 3300 psi, you guys are whimps. 😀 lol

No, you just cant stop when you start the stroke. You can impart more than 150 pounds of force if that 150 pounds is moving when it hits that final stage.

I weigh right at 150 too. Guess I’ll have to jump of a ladder on to the pump those last few pumps! 😀

I weigh just under 150. I am a lightweight athlete and have to keep my weight down.

When I measured the force to compress my Hill pump, to see what size gear motor I would need, it takes 200 pounds to compress. Thats only for the last two inches or so. If you dont weigh 200 then you need to get some momentum going to overcome it. My son has a pretty hard time pumping it up when its getting close to 3k psi. At least thats his excuse for me having to finish it off ).

Don’t take this the wrong way, but how much do you weigh? 😀

Depending on how many psi it can take about 10 minutes or less. The general rule is 15 strokes per 100 psi. I work out 15 hours a week and it’s still pretty tough work. Surprisingly enough at high PSI even my entire body weight cannot push the piston all the way down so I have to get some momentum. 😆

I wish I had a scuba tank or something.

the first time i filled my SS w/ a hand pump is was pretty bruttle. Quite a good workout actually. I think it took about 30 min. or so taking a few breaks. After the first time, i would refill it ever 30-40 shots and that would take about 5-10 min.

Now I have an EX-Air compressor so I dont use the hand pump anymore!!! I really miss those workouts. NOT
