Q:

Harris bipod mounting

Was wondering if one of you would be kind enough to post a pic of how you installed a sling stud to install a harris bipod.

I have a harris bipod and a few different types of stud and thinking of how I want to install the studs.

I think I need a much longer stud really but I want to see before I purchase anymore studs.

Thanks

That’s the lo-profile thingy I was talking about! 😯

So I ended up using a bsquare dovetail to weaver adapter that I had and drilled and tapped it.

I bought the adapter for my laser and it comes with two so I had one in the box.

Thanks guys

Does it look like this… That is also what I did. 🙂

Here is yet another way to mount a Harris…

Are you willing to drill and tap you rifle’s frame or forearm…

Or.

Do you want to install it in a way that leaves the rifle unharmed?

If the first option is the one, watch for the barrel bushings if you want to change the barrel without taking out the sling stud…

If you put it in the forearm screw hole watch out for the powerhweel just above the threaded opening… It’s easy to contact the wheel with that particular bolt…

YN made a really cool mount which used a clamp on low profile FWB (i think) dove to weaver and he bolted the stud through the converter rail and attached the converter rail to the underside dove and viola! 😆 The converter rail comes about 6″ long so it may need some cutting and painting… Should be aluminum so a hacksaw and file would do just fine, unless of course you have a mill… 😉

It should be a sticky in the quick ref’ section. Best way is to drill and tap a 11mm to weaver adaptor, and put the sling stud in that.

x2 or you can purchase a 11mm rail mount with a stud in it from directly airforce or wherever you find one. I think they are 20.00 bucks or so.
