Excellent piece of equipment and thank you for taking the time to share this info here.
I’m probably misunderstanding something but am curious, I assumed that the hammer spring tension which produces the max speed for any given regulator setting would be lower as the regulator setting was reduced? If there is less pressure then it should take less force for the hammer striking the pin so there would be less hammer spring tension required?
To be able to say that X bar regulator setting will produce Y speed using a specific pellet would assume a number of other variables are constant ie: hammer tensions springs are the same, barrel length of the rifle…..
I have clearly not thought this through as carefully as you have so hopefully you will explain.

you are correct, lower bar pressure require less HST tension to get the same pellet speed, speed is limited to the given pressure in the reg. Every time the reg is adjusted–the valve stem spring and HST has to be synchronized to get the tightest shot string.
