Hawke 6.5-20X40 VS 6-24X50

So… I know this should be under optics… but many of you are using the 6.5-20X40 and I’m considering upgrading to one for my .22 Cricket. I currentily have a 6-24X50 on my Cricket, and there is nothing wrong with it, but it could be a tad clearer, tends to flare if you are looking across a bright field into a darker background, and doesn’t have the 1/2 mill dots of the 6.5-20. Do any of you own both scopes or know how the two compare for clarity? I have to assume the 6.5-20X40 is better overall since it is about $200 more than the 6-24X50.
