hawke tactical 6.5-20×42 or falcon menace 5.5-25×50
Hi.
I want to buy a new scope this summer and I cant make a choice.
What do you thin about:
Hawke tactical 6.5-20 x42 and Falcon menace 5.5-25x50ffp.
I am leaning toward at Falcon for ffp but I am interested about what scope have a better optics.
Please help me if somebody own one of this.

That is yet another positive review for the Super Sniper. I have that 10x fixed and I love it. I am most likely going to give the 20x fixed a go in the near future.
The Falcon Menace I had was bright clear glass with a super fine reticle that could easily be lost in subdued light. I returned mine for a full refund due to the magnification ring requiring gorilla strength to turn.
Mine also had this stamped on the bottom of the eyebox: Counter sniper series

I have a few Bushnell scopes and liked them a lot at first. I still have a 6500 and a spotting scope. But I would probably not get another Bushnell product. For me there not massively expensive but there not exactly good value. If I put my Bushnell side by side with my Nikko or Hawke I can honestly say there not worth the extra money. Don’t get me wrong I think there still perfectly good scopes its just not the best value. If I was to get another high end scope I would go with a Nightforce, Schmidt and Bender or US Optics as there all outstanding products.
Duly noted. I have heard conflicting reviews on the US Optics. Most nay sayers stemming from a claim that they made “being the optic of the US Armed forces” or something to that effect. I don’t personally know anyone who ever owned one? Anyone????

I had the Konus pro 30. It had the internal bubble level. Oddly it seemed a little off level, lol. Otherwise it was a decent scope. I never heard of the Optisan scopes. I’ll go check those out, thanks.
I use a Hawke Sidewinder 30 on my TalonSS and love it, great glass. I have a Vortex Crossfire II on my Marauder and its a good scope, works well and holds zero. No shifting while changing magnification. My only complaint is its got a slight yellow tint when you look through it, still works fine, just has a tint. Two scopes I’ve really been wanting to check out are the Konus Pro M30 models, and the Optisan scopes are now being sold in the US. The optisan has been popular in the UK, dont think there are many people selling them here yet, but later in the summer/fall hopefully places will have them. I think I’d like to get a MTC Viper from them, 8-32X60.
Very interesting. I thought they were at least assembled here…I suppose not. I am interested in reading more about them. So far they seem to have some good reviews…But I think my future purchase will be the Falcon…or if I can afford a bit more coin, the Bushnell. I have the SWFA 10x fixed and I really like it, so one day I think I’ll add the 20x to my collection.
Also, you should look at the Vortex line of scopes. I hear they are top notch quality, made in the USA…so far I have read a few good reviews.
SWFA SS scopes are hands down one of the best bang for you buck. And don’t forget The Bushnell elite FFP 6-24×50 tactical! Might be my future, first Bushy purchase!!! ๐
Also, keep in mind the main purpose you will be using this rifle scope for. If you are hunting small game then a FFP with a mil dot reticle might not be a good choice as the dots will increase in size along with the magnification and your target will disappear behind the mil dot. This won’t be a problem with a hash mark reticle or some hollow mil dot reticles, etc.
There is not a single vortex scope made in the USA. If you do a search they have different manufacture locations based on which line it is. They are made in Japan, Philippines and from what i have read the cheap crossfire was made in china.
and lets not forget warranty. Lately I have been leaning towards better warranties in all my purchases. I read on sniper central that the falcons have not held up to the abuse of powder burners…Falcon does it’s assembly in the UK but they outsource many parts from China (not trying to open up a can of worms here guys about QC of China), however, their warranty from a few years back was a five year deal and may have been indicative of this outsourcing. Now that they have upgraded to limited lifetime, this could mean better parts to the whole, or simply “rolling the dice” as to how many mechanical failures vs successes.
Imagine a worse case scenario where there is no more commerce, no more chances to simply purchase the scope of your choice. If that happens, what your left holding will be a matter of life and death for it may not only be called upon to defend you, but put food on your table. If that is the case or not, I’d like to have the best possible optic I can. In that regard so far the SWFA SS fits the bill. A good “crossover” scope if need be.
and since no one sent me anything for my birthday this month…you can make up for it by taking up a collection and sending me this fellas:
Hawke is no doubt a good scope. Many people here own them and use them. I had one briefly years ago but never even had time to evaluate it. One thing that I do not like is Mil/moa. I prefer Mil/Mil scopes.

I think It isnt a popular scope in USA.
This two scopes seems to came from UK and if Hawke is more use it , I belive it is better.
Can’t quite understand how you can deduce that if Hawke is more used it is better, but that’s okay. Yes, the Falcon’s are more common in England than the USA. Anyway, good luck with your decision.
For Hawke tactical I see many reviews on Youtube but for Falcon illuminated reticle 5.5-25×50 not to many.

I have always heard good things about the falcons being assembled in Britain and with Japanese glass. I may be going for one very soon otherwise I am going to go with a scope that I know is bullet proof in the swfa ss 20x fixed for only 299. Some say it has slight issues with low light (dusk/dawn)…but it will be a designated target/benchrest scope for my .257 broom stick and it will help these “getting older” eyes of mine for sure when shooting for groups.
The falcon on the other hand is more practical for multiple applications and perhaps resale being a variable zoom….
