Q:

HEadline news man kills cats !!!

A trail of dead cats was traced back to a Jacksonville homeowner who police said shot the felines with a pellet gun to protect a koi pond in his front yard.

Dana A. Charlton, 30, of the 3400 block of Mayflower Street was charged with animal cruelty Thursday, according to a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office arrest report. He posted $1,500 bail and was released from the Duval County jail.

Neighbors contacted authorities when area cats started turning up with pellet wounds. The report didn’t make clear how many cats were killed or injured.

One of the cats was found bleeding in multiple places and throwing up bile. The pet’s owner took it to a veterinary clinic where the animal died from a fatal abdomen wound, according to the report.

Charlton’s wife surrendered his pellet gun to police, the report said. His 3-year-old child told officers “Daddy likes to shoot cats.”

I have 2 ways of warning , one is the Daisey red Ryder, the other is the water hose.

So what works better the Walther 25 or the condor 22.

I think that guy is using a condor or talon I can’t be sure, and synopsis he’s pretty crafty that mean old man towards the end of the street.

Good job harry and it’s irresponsible cat owners that cause the problems and they let them run around without having them fixed.

The guy next door that had at least 25 feral cats that he poored food for and none of them were fixed and the 3 domestic pet cats were all males so guess what that means.

I had kittens in my shed and more kittens under a kids pool the small ones and I tipped it over so it wouldn’t be a mosquito trap and they were breeding under it too. It was a disaster and my dogs are still digging up cat shit.

There is only one cat left in the immediate area from what I can tell.

The house is vacant now and it was my great grandmothers house that was left to me but I had to evict the bum that was living there and my grandpa was dating his mother for 14 years and the guy got to live there for free all that time so he could afford lots of cat food.

It smells so bad inside that house I can’t even stand it and some of the floors are falling through when the carpet was pulled up due to cat piss and he had 4 of them that were his inside cats but he would leave his doors open in the summer so the cats could come and go as they please.

He also took the windows out of the crawl space in the house so they could breed under the house.

I’m sure glad those cats all found another place to hang out 🙂

I’d of just as soon shot this feral POS, but neighbors are just to close. I trapped about 8 or 9 of these things at my house earlier this year. I let ’em go at the shipyard where their chances of survival are minimal. 😉

There is this one guy down the road that I suspect and I bet he is shooting them and then running them over to make it look like they were hit by a car and even further I bet he rolls over them once to make sure that no ballistics are ever detected but this is only a theory and he’s a mean man. I thought I seen him out by one of them a few days ago.

Mean man, but smart! 😯

I have to say that for a while all these feral cats were getting run over by cars it was the strangest thing and I know it was over 20 of them and I thought they were smarter than that.

I sure hope the ones that are pets don’t get run over because I would never do anything to one of them for the record 🙂

You should go out and keep guard on those cats and make sure nothing happens to them. 😆 😆

I have 20 nest boxes in my yard and at least 7 roost boxes and I spend a small fortune feeding the birds so these neighbors should know that these birds mean a lot to me.

The chickadees will land on my shoulder and go around to the feeders with me while I clean them with bleech in case a diseased bird comes from a dirty feeder to mine.

The entire finch population is down 40% due to a nasty disease so watch for it and it will spread like wildfire if you have one bird with this disease.

This is what it looks like it’s called mycoplasmal conjunctivitis

If you see a goldfinch, housefinch, or purplefinch acting tame or all puffed up while eating it’s going blind at that stage.

Here is the problem with feral cats especially but domestic house cats too they bury their shit wherever they want to and their shit carries all types of disease some of which can live up to a year in their shit even buried.

The problem with this is that some dogs like to dig it up and eat it or play with it don’t know why but they just do and it can and will kill the dog.

People in my neighborhood think it’s cute when I have to bring them their damn cat after it gets caught in my pest trap and I just want to shove the cat up their ass.

I also see these cats with my chickadees in their mouths running through the yard and one got up on the pole somehow and killed 2 chickadees this spring.

I’ve ask the neighbors that if I purchased a collar with a bell on it would they put it on their cats and they basically told me to fuck off.

Cats kill millions of songbirds every year and that’s why songbird populations as a whole are on the decline. Many factors are causing this from deforestation to house sparrow and starling populations growing.

A house sparrow will have 7-10 in a breeding 3 times a year where most songbirds have 2-5. Then the cowbird which used to follow the buffalo around and cows for it’s food now are put in the same proximety with songbirds well the problem with a cowbird is this.

A female cowbird can have 40 young each year and it takes one of the host eggs out and lays it’s egg in the nest but that’s not the end of it she lays it so hers will hatch first so it has a head start on the songbirds babies plus the cowbird is 2 times bigger than the parent songbird so the cowbird baby gets all the food and the parents sometimes die from exhaustion trying to feed it.

That means all the songbird babies die and there’s a lot more to that and then add crows eating the songbirds and raccoons you name it and the numbers are bad.

Which leads me back to why it doesn’t seem like a big deal with the millions of songbirds that cats eat each year but when factoring everything else in it’s a big deal.

I have no feral cats left in my neighborhood they just seem to have disappeared weird huh.

We do have 3 or 4 cats that belong to people living close by and they told me it’s a cats nature to hunt (no shit!) so I guess they missed my point with the songbird rant.

Here is a video of a a chipping sparrow trying to keep up with a cowbirds feeding needs see the size difference.

Tell your Neighbor it’s in you nature to shoot what ever is hunting your song birds.

Some say well that’s just nature but this species used to live on the plains and never caused a problem for songbirds but now they are forced in close proximity and the songbirds haven’t evolved to counter this problem.

If you see a cowbird shoot the sucker.

Buddy of mine was telling me about a story when his dad shot a bobcat with a compound bow, the cat hissed at them and proceeded to pull the arrow out of itself and limp away. 😯

quote Hoot:

You can’t even eat the damn things!

Australian Aborigines eat them.

The only mistake this guy made was not consulting with Dirty Harry to ensure it was done right the first time.

The whole nine lives thing is well deserved. Cats are very hard to kill dead. With a pellet gun or even a .22LR ,If its not a temple or back of the head shot the cats going to run, drag, roll or hop off most every time. .22mag and up or Shotgun /#5shot and down and a shovel is what you need for Rebel cats.
You should know your neighbors and their pets and if their is a problem with a domestic animal, then try and work things out like adults should.
If you live out in the boonies and know your few neighbors pets and outsiders like to dump stray cats and drive off and the cats get in your trash at night well………….
Tag,

That’s a funny pic. Here Tronny,Tronny. 😆

I see. I’ve seen animals of a gentle nature before so I better understand what you’re saying. I wouldn’t abuse “my” cats either but if I did, they would bite, and claw as best they could! They like to play rough and won’t take much teasing from the boys before a swipe and run.

One of the darn things jumps on my bed every night and often starts licking my hand. I’m not sure if its cleaning my hand because I stink, checking if I’m dead before it takes a bite, or trying to stay on my good side so I’ll feed it in the morning, again.
