Q:

Help me find this shroud / Posting

I think it was last winter or maybe spring someone posted a few photos of an internal shroud for a Talon ss. If I remember correctly he said it was “CNC made.” I think the guy was from MN. I recall the title had “kickass” or “wicked” shroud in it.

I have searched for what seems like hours and cannot find the post! Does anybody else remember it? If so could you please see if you can find it and direct me the posting.

Thanks all,

Rob

How can you get your hands on one of those babies? Does it work as good as it looks? would be nice if it could just drop inside the SS Shroud without and mods.

That is the one! Nice work

No the green scotchbrite goes around the barrel between the two bushings with a couple depressurizing vent holes in the bottom rail in front of the rear bushing. I also added a unique blast baffle behind the insert to make the rear expansion chamber more efficient.

That is a killer design! I wonder if you were to turn it down a little on the OD just enough to allow a green scrubby pad to be wrapped around it when it is stuffed into the barrel, if that would make it any quieter?

Yep thats the one.

Beautiful work.

Here ya go

Thanks guys for the photos guys. Nice work.

RiffRaff was correct, I am looking for one that is concealed inside the ss frame to keep the gun short.

the first talon ss that i bought here in the forum came with this baffles inside and they work pretty good keeping the noise down, here is a picture

those look like the baffles that AWC uses in their comercial full-auto rated suppressors… 😈

oh i see i have this one on my talon .25 and is really good

Thats awesome Victor.

But I think he wants one that fits inside the SS frame?

Still, very impressive work.

BTW, this one of mine works superb with the barrel you sent me.

here is mine

Here is the drawing I made of the one I use.

Inner section is 3″ long 1″ OD, outer section is 1.875″ long 1.25″ OD. Outer section has a piece of carbon tube covering it (RED).

Inner section holes are .562″x.935″, outer section .75″x1.15″.
Bore hole .280.
Space between holes .125″

Machined in delrin, core is 1 peice.

Grub screw drilled in inner section, held in place by grub screw at end of frame. (Hole drilled into delrin, used a long grub screw)

Works pretty good. A little quieter than the one I have without the outer section.

Thanks for finding that. It must be the one but I do not remember any of the replies.

Anyone else have any photos of an internal shroud for an ss (other than the washer or spring mods)
