Help on choosing the best Rangefinder!! please help…
Dears my TAG Brothers,,,
for a while ago i am interesting on buying a good range finder, i want to buy the best one that works on any day light conditions on birds/trees/…. at any place and also very fast and clear ,,,
i think below provided links are the best two ones ,,if i am not mistaken ??!! that you know guys,, if i am mistaken or no…???
please consider all needed features and specification for hunting ,,, i really have no information about rangefinders ,,, even the two i have pasted links below,,,but i read the descriptions and thought these are good ones ,,, hope you can guide me to the best one between these two RFs ,,,

i wrote to Opticstrade on youtube,, asked about the best one between the Ziess one and Leica one ,,,he told me that the best one is Leica ,,, and you know better than me,,,thanks..

Damn you Ville… :rofl: :rofl: believe me first time I didn’t see word of (tape)… you mentioned. . :rofl: I thought you are talking about the Leica RF that will be a hassle item during hunting…
I do usually hunt inside cars…no walking or hiding. …
Brother Awny…you are totally right. .. now iam using my estimate measurement and becoming better time after time..
Last weekend I went to hunt and hunted 14 birds. .. one of them was at 110mtrs and killed with head shot :8:

To make the hiking more exhausting and thus better cardio training i suggest you carry along a measuring tape instead. A REAL poor guys RF tool – especially one with only 5 m tape. Easy to carry and use and very accurate.

The even poorer guys 🙂 pick a Nikon Prostaff 3 for $99. Works fine down to 11 yards and up 200+ yards.
By the way I usually do not use range finder while hunting (though I carry it). What I do and suggest doing is carrying around while hiking and play distance guessing games with self and friends. After awhile you will develop a very good skill in estimating the distance yourself. You will be surprised.

Ville was referring to the measuring tape in that comment. I think there are mainly three reasons for that:
1) Most birds or games will not stick around until you come close enough and they wont hold the tape end for you.
2) A 100+ yard measure tape (which a shooter of your caliber needs) is hard to get by and heavy to carry around.
3) The process is lengthy and exhaustive for you too if you are checking multiple targets.
There could be other reasons too, but those are enough!

I have a Leica (LRF1200) and it’s a fantastic range finder, but it has a minimum range that it will report around 20-25 yards depending on the object, so may not be so great for (close) airgun shooting. Perhaps the shorter distance units register closer? I don’t know, but it’s something to check out if it matters to you.

+ 1 for Leica. THE best RF is your regular measuring tape but it´s a hassle for hunting situations … :biggrinn:

The best overall is the Swarovski. There is nothing that can compete with this company under 3K USD. The best value is the Leica CRF 1200. The fact is under 900 yards these two models are equal yet the Leica is half the price of the Swarovski. For an airgun I would choose the Leica. For shooting out to a 1000 plus yards I would choose the Swarovski.
