You could take a slightly larger allen and file it down to fit into the enlarged hole (use a small hammer to tap it in), or maybe a reverse drill bit… 😕

no luck 🙁

I tried it with some epoxy, left it all night for it to dry, and when i tried to turn it, it cracked and the wrench just came out.
Then i did the same, but this time using baking soda + crazy glue, same result 🙁 🙁

Today i took the stem & top hat assambly and stoped by a hardware store to ask if there was a screw extractor that might get the job done, and the guy told me he has a lot of extractors, but none so small that it would fit the little screws 👿

Any more help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks for your help guys, ill give it a shot and let you know how it went.

thanks!

Thanks for your ideas guys. I will give the epoxy a try.
You think its a good idea to put the tophat in boiling water first, to loosen up the loktite on the screw first?

Use a cigarette lighter for a few seconds.

A left-handed drill bit might grab it and back it out for you.

Yeah, epoxy. I don’t think superglue will give enough sheer strength.

use a wee bit of some two part epoxy, exercise a bit of patience and allow it to set up completely and make sure you do not use too much which will just glue the grub to he top hat.

There are tow ways I have done something like this:

(1) get a little screw extractor (it bite into the walls to grab onto it), or
(2) glue an allen key into the stropped hole, let it set up and then turn it out.

Thanks for your reply, what kind of glue should i use? would crazy glue be ok?
