Q:

Help please

Was doing o-ring maintenance for my .22 std. I was not able to re-install the one inside the barrel. Is there a certain technique for this o-ring?

Best regards
Adham

Good job Adham, that can be used to remove it also !

You can also use a plastic fork.
Break off the three forks and heat the forth one at an angle so you can go (fit) into the breech easier.

I have a rule that is a vEry oLd one, no metals !

Thanks GKU.. I did follow your rule and Ernest’s video.
The plastic fork would work as well.

Thanks again

Perfect! You can still clean between your Teeth with it so it serves double purpose 🙂
I push an VFG felt just so it barely clears the o-ring groove. That stops the o-ring going past the groove and makes the install a snap.

Great idea. You can still clean the barrel when you are done 🙂

Thank you all, you were very helpful.
Thank you Ernest for the video, it was very clear.

I used this to fix the o-ring

I put a cleaning rod down barrel, pull it back just past o-ring grove. Lube o-ring and push in with finger tip. Hold finger tip over hole and push cleaning rod towards finger. Drops it into grove every time, easy as baking a pie.

Here’s a Video in how I install a new oring. I seen and read others shooter Technic. but to me this is the quickest and easiest. for sure watching this video it will give you an idea that will work best for you. Note: sightly lube oring prior to installation, its more difficult while barrel in the action but easier with practice.

Ya it can be tricky to install.

First make sure it the right size 1.5mm x 5.5 mm.

Sneeze it in half with your fingers, get the bottom to go into the groove first.
Hold it down with something, no metals use a small wooden 1/8″ dowel about 5/8″ long or something plastic that shorter then the breech width, hold it with a long nose plier or I used a hemostat.
Wail holding it at a straight downward angle, push the remaining portion of the O-ring into the groove.
Lube up with 100 % silicone lube.

It may take several try’s, but be patient it will go in.
that’s what she said…… … .. . 😳 😆
