Q:

Here are my Chrony numbers from my stock Condor… Input plz

Went to the range today and started my search for my Condors sweet spot. I think I’m doing the opposite from what I”ve just read today but here are my numbers. What are your inputs and advice please.

– Stock Condor 24″ .22cal with Hi-Flo tank. Bought Feb 2009.
– Beeman Kodiak .22cal 21.1gr
– Airforce Hand Pump
– Shooting Chrony Alpha
– Target range @ 50meters and my 2 ten shot groups could be covered with a nickle with a few edges showing.
– Start fill 2400psi… after 20 shots, end at 1900psi according to the hand pump.
– Top hat adjusted to 0.044″
– Powerwheel set to 6-1

1 – 1016
2 – 1012
3 – 1014
4 – 1007
5 – 1009
6 – 1004
7 – 1001
8 – 1002
9 – 997
10 – 997
11 – 995
12 – 990
13 – 987
14 – 987
15 – 986
16 – 985
17 – 976
18 – 978
19 – 971
20 – 971

This is does not look like a bell curve I’ve been reading. Should it go something like this…
1 1 1 1 1 2 2 2 3 4 3 2 2 2 1 1 1 1 1

What do you guys think? Should my adjustments be the opposite from what I mentioned above in regards to the powerwheel and top hat settings?

Thanks for the advice.

the opposite… I’m starting at 2400psi and ending at around 1900psi and then pumping it back up to 2400psi.

If my pump is reading right that’s 500psi for 20 shots = 25psi per shot, averaging 994fps from the muzzle with 21gr Kodiaks. 10 shot almost all inside a nickle with a few edges showing @ 50 meters.

Not all guns have a bell curve and not all shooters like bell curves . I do not like them for my target shooting at 50 plus yards . Because it is easier for me to start at a low 6 o-clock poa and move up to keep my poi at the same spot than to have the poi move up and then down again and try and keep track of it all . May be I am too simple mined. Also when you are hand pumping as I think you are its a lot of extra work to get from 2400 psi to 2800 psi for 5 shots . Just my thoughts . Marvin

I think you have found some sweet spot, and like others more psi in the tank and maybe turn the power wheel up a couple numbers at 1st for 4 or 5 shots then back to original setting, it all depends on the speed on the beginning psi, you might just want to try a pw 5.5 all the way.

you say target range 50 meters is your chrony that far away? if so i think you have a powerful gun
if not it seems like good numbers but id do as said already and fill it to 2800 or 2900
i fill mine to 2900 and 20 shots later i am at 2100 but i am shooting a modded hiflo valve and eunjins @ 28.3 gr and im shooting 1025 max to 965 low i have a slight bell curve and am using pw set at 8/4
just my opinion im no expert by anymeans

I would start with a higher fill presser, 2800 and go from there
