Lol, how many times have many of us had that dumb ass look from the clerk/assistant while you try to explain what you are looking for and what your going to use it for. Most of the time I just try and find it myself. I couldnt believe the run around I got just yesterday when I asked if they had Loctight for threads in Home Depot. They sent me from one department to the next with me asking over and over “why wouldnt it be in hardware with the nuts and bolts?” They dont have it and dont have a clue what it is or what its used for. A trip to Ace Hardware got me handled though.
Tell me about it. Two hardware stores in this little town of mine and they’re both a huge pile of steaming monkey dung.
I’ve been meaning to get the supplies for blasting and anodizing myself… I was always under the impression that anodizing was much more difficult than it is.
The WOKBUT should be one of my first good candidates.
If you’ve got even a cheap compressor you can get cheap blasting guns at the local department stores. A little blasting media such as baking soda and you’re all set. I’m thinkin’ it would be quicker and easier than hand sanding each piece?
I have both a compressor and a blaster. The problem it the compressor took a shit and I cant find the start capacitors locally. I dont want to make people wait as I order them and wait for them to arrive.
That is a problem nowadays. I take them into a hardware store and they have not a clue what they are or where to find them.
WOK –

Adam, one of the versions looks like you used an archery bow sight bracket. Just happen to have several hanging around here. We owned Ex-it archery here in Killeen up until Desert Storm helped me close the doors! Forget a patent. Even if you could get one, and even if you could pony up the money for the patent search, and the patent fees, no way you could ever afford to fend off a challenge in court. Even though a patent is supposed to protect you, If you aren’t “VERY” well off, You could never afford to fight a corporation that infringes on your designs. I’ve learned this one the hard way!

Right Mike,
The reason no one figured out how it was attached is I never showed the bottom of the clamp…LOL.
I got asked all the time how did you attach that thing. Was not until recently I let the cat out of the bag. There are other ways to attach it but the hose clamps let me hide it under the cover. No one had done it before so people did not even construe the possibility of using them. While I was working on the design I went over and over a way to attach it without any bulky straps and then it hit me. The rest is history.
Looks like I will have to come up with something new and original sooner or later. I am currently working on the butt pads for these guys. Funny thing is most people like the simple attachment of the Wokbut 2.
What takes time is the boring of the large holes and the precise milling of the angles. Not to mention the tapping…..
The finish did not come out the way I wanted it in the tumbler, so I will be hand sanding and each piece to a matte finish….Yeah for me!
Well Adams is a “Lot” cleaner execution! can’t figure out why anyone had a hard figuring out how it was attached. It is self explanatory.

The diamond plate looks tacky as hell. I think the Wokbutt has a much cleaner look to it as far as that goes.
WoK, it was fairly obvious that you used hose clamps even in your first photo’s. Well, maybe not to some I guess.
Yeah, it would be very hard to get a patent for this. There are so many other guns with similar adjustable buttplates.
I thought everyone loved Diamond plate. If it looks good, why try to hide it?
Why not call it the walkonmybutt?
If it comes from the left coast, it can’t be good, I’ll be back!!!!!! 🙂
It appears I have nothing else to do, just waiting for my molds to cure. The molds for my fiberglass (patterned after the Condor) project.
OK, I’m out of here. 😀
It looks like it’s made out of diamond plate? 🙄
I wonder what took so long.
Great ideas are always copied. Its not hard to tell which came first.
I too prefer the So-Cal version over this imposter.
Diamond plate? Makes it look clunky. The bends? Too far apart and it uses the wrong color bolts. Ect… 😛
Probably calls it “Wankbutt”.
–stop me if I am going to far…
Right ON!
You should have seen the look on the guys face at Ace Hardware when I cleaned them out of stainless steel bolts and a few black ones…LOL. He said those have been here for the longest time and no one buys them and you buy them all…..I told him, order some more pronto….lol
Adam has had that butt plate and those 1911 style grips on his rifle for years.
He was never shy about showing them off either…haha
Great job King.
Damn Straight. Wouldn’t want someone to think the idea came from somebody else….LOL
OOOOPS! I mean the WOKbutt II……….lol
Looks to me like his mounting brackets are to wide..It will be hard to stabilize that if you go for the hidden look …. Oh well…I’ll have The WOKbutt on mine….Means more to me anyways….
