Q:

Hi from the new guy

Hi guys, I’ve lurked a bit and joined today.

I have a new-style-second hand .25 Condor SS on the way so I figured I better join. It will arrive w/ a good Leapers scope (that the guy I bought it from does no like so I hope it’s ok) and a .177 barrel.

Some of the things I’ve read have me worried that the gun will be too powerful for the .177 barrel. Any insight on that, and how I should cope will be appreciated.

I tried to buy a TT top hat, but got a message at checkout that shipping is not available to USA??? I left a VM so I expect that will get taken care of.

Well, I took the Condor out for her first flight today.

So happy. The “crown” damage on the 177 barrel is really on the breech end (I’m not the brightest crayon in the shed) no worries there. The wokbutt is a very nice upgrade, and arrived way quicker than I expected. Walkon did not have any and made one, but it arrived the day before the Condor :suprisedn: . It’s nice quality. I’ve always admire folks with the skills to make things.

I only shot out to 25 yards, and it grouped quite well, and without doing a darn thing to it. Nowhere to go but up :).

Based on the sellers description and picts, I was expecting I’d find the scope to be too high for my taste. I wish that was my error in judgement rather than the nick, because I do feel like I need lower rings. No biggie, but my LGS did not have anything. If anyone has tips on good, not too spendy 30 mm rings that will fit the Condor with out an adaptor (I wish to get the scope as close to the barrel as possible) I’d love to hear em.

Thanks for the tips everyone.

The top hat, screw and en jins from TT, and the Wokbutt from Walkon arrived Wednesday. The Condor arrived yesterday. Sadly, my air tank does not get here til Monday.

I’m a bit bummed to find that the crown on the 177 barrel is damaged. Well see how she shoots, but I would have expected that the seller disclosed that there was an issue. Hopefully that’s my only surprise.

The restrictor kit your buying from Tony should help you, try the small restrictor 1st.

Just take the hammer weight out

First welcome to the mad house. Next as for your 177 barrel, once you get the Talon Tunes Top hat use the smallest insert, and check to see if Tony has a light weight hammer, or simply remove the hammer weight from your stock gun if you don’t have a one piece after market hammer, then turn it all the way down to start with. I have a Condor valved tank, and a Talon valved tank, I had to use the Talon valve, think restricted flow, and a light weight hammer to get the 12″ 177 barrel to shoot 8.1 grain H&N’s below super sonic. If I’m off base guys please step up and correct me, just going from what I had to work with when trying to get my 177 down to 12 ft.lbs. or a bit under.

Thanks for the reply, are you Tony? If so thanks for the call.

I tried a couple of times and did have United States selected. So there is one problem for you.

Your email link is also wrong. If you maintain the site go to your HTML and look for “info@yourdoman.com” and replace that with the correct email. That will fix that problem. I’ve no idea about the other, maybe a setting or your host.

I’ll try again to order from the site and give a call if I can’t.

Cheers
