I suppose it depends where you live? I bought the pump with it, didn’t think it was that much, and the refills are cheap to and could probably be found under a different name. I got it because I figured if our air compressors can fill up with water, so could the rifle tank, I could be wrong on that. I think I’ve read people say yes and no. I see you live in FL, I would buy one, but thats me.

G4,

Do you have water blow out of the pressure relief very often when you release the pressure?

After using the dry pack here in Ohio for about 8-9 months, I started to get some water blow out so I knew it was time to change the dry pack.

I had gone through 3 AF pumps in short order before I upgraded to the Hill. Hill indicates the dry pack keeps the moisture out of the pump it prevents wear of the o-rings.

I recently screwed up the Hill by leaving it with 2000 PSI and sitting by a heat register for several days. I wouldn’t work after that. I have the rebuild kit but the Hill diagram wasn’t very good but Hill provides a much better one. It took a while to figure out which of 3 types I have. Then,
I had a problem and couldn’t get one of the check valves apart so I just cleaned the black grease out of the check valves the best I could. That got it working. I think the heat register caused the lube to plug up the check valves. I may try white lithium grease for the lube until I can get something better.
