Hill Pump Stuff?
Hey guys, I am about to buy a Talon SS and a Hill pump and I need to know what else I need to get for the pump in order to fill the tank. I am slowly trying to sift through the vast amounts of information on this site, great stuff btw! Thanks.

3 AF pumps with only a couple months actual use then a good Hill pump got me back in shape. But now getting out to the range, with many trips down range to check targets, I’ve graduated to a ShoeBox comprrssor and Joe Brancato’s Guppy CF tank.

all u need to go along with the ss and the hill is the air force 1/8 male adapter its like 22 bucks at pyramid… the initial pump up sucks but once u get it up to pressure fire 30 shots and then top off its really not to bad…
Most of us have been there and done that with the pumps.
Go find a dive shop that sells used tanks, tell them what you want it for, they may ask for a waiver to make sure you don’t use it for diving if your not scuba certified, they will sell you a used scuba tank and take care of you.
Used tanks run 100 bucks and you can find a used scuba yoke for 50 bucks.
When you want to go to scba or get a shoebox compressor, sell the scuba tank back to the dive shop for 50 bucks and sell the scuba yoke here and buy your scba tank.
You will be money ahead and your back will thank you.

Do you really want to get a pump?? You might as well at least get a scuba tank used for it. i rented a scuba tank, until i found a 4500 psi 88 cu. ft. carbon fiber, i did not want to spend the money for it but i read on this sight enough to see that most all ended up with one after they bought the pump, then the scuba etc. see what i mean.

A hand pump can be really handy if you are just topping a tank off after a hunt. Going from 2,000-3,000 isn’t that bad and only takes about 150-200 strokes.
NOW, if you are starting from scratch, zero, nada, then you are going to need about 600 strokes. This is what it took to get my Condor tank up to pressure. Your mileage may vary. 😛
