homemade air arms s510 / s410 bullpup
Hello everybody
First of all I like this forum very much, read it a lot. When the first video’s city crow hunters of edguns bullpup appeared on youtube I knew I wanted a bullpup. So eventually with the help of some friends I could realize it. Little rough and I am no handy man but hey its a bullpup and I like it.
I hope you like it to

I always wanted to try to convert my little QB78 into a bullpup but the main problem I had (trust me It might be common sense to others but) making the barrel longer, being that in reality your moving the whole stock forward putting the bolt in the back and moving the trigger up further. The barrel will be shorter in front.
Wow very nice.
Hello guys
My bullpup has evolved a little over time and I wanted to share this with you.
So I took my camere and made some pictures.
I put a lot of work in this and it wasn’t easy because i don’t have proffecional tools and I am eather a builder of (things) as proffesion.
bud I am very happy with the result and it puts a smile on my face when I hold it 🙂

angry looking gun , angry looking car, I am looking happy though

That is a nice group, I am not shure that is possible that frequent with mine, will have to try.
Most of the time I use metal spinner targets and not that much paper.
Can I ask wich pellets you use, I have jsb exact and heavy and ordered a tin of h&n barracuda to try, because my last order of jsb were so bad I lost a little confidence in the brand. The jsb heavy’s were still ok though.
I have a link with pictures I started on another forum about showing the difference between 2007 and 2010 jsb’s.
I Have the pictures on my laptop but yesterday the 04/02 evening my laptop went dead and guess wich date was on the waranty document 04/02 oh man luck is on my side 🙁 ,I think they have a timer build into electronics these days and it goes of on the day waranty expieres.
Anyway this is why i cant upload the pictures so ignore the jibrich of words for you on the link 🙂 and look at the pictures the say it all

@ Tachdriver
I think that is a great idea, I think for metal workers making a mounting system is a peace of cake.
One of the hardest parts i the feel of the trigger,I have it finally as I want now at least the best I could do.
I did had to sacrifice the 2 stages as shown on the video on this topic, but now it is very light and breaks very clean , no scratching , rubbing anywere.

I glass bedded the stock to eliminate that mushy feeling of the action screw.
I could easily squeeze the gap between the air tank and the stock closed with very little pressure. It was a poor fitting mate to the stock.
After glassing, the screw tightens down to the same point every time and zero never changes. Before every time the guns POI was different due to the pressure on the tank not being consistent, now its free-floating.
That top pic of my shroud shows the silver tube I used to glass bed with. I filled the trigger assembly and gauge holes with clay, then epoxied that tube in the stock (properly released of course). That tube is exactly the same OD as my airtube and action on the rifle.
After it set, I removed the tube then cut out the clay and opened up the voids with a razor knife.
This eliminated any chance of me getting epoxy in the rifle parts and completely ruining it. Yeah, I have a centerfire that speaks for my experience with that… 👿
The baffle/shroud keeps the barrel very consistently pointed as well. Ive only had to adjust the scope once for different pellets, and swapping between different types is just a matter of a few clicks and its set.
I searched for target pics but they seem to be eliminated from my gorgenet space. I guess my wife didn’t think they were important anymore LOL.
Suffice to say I almost never see paper between pellet holes with this rifle.
–edit– Forgot I had this one in my wallet LOL.
Its 10 shots at 50 yards. First group shot after finishing the mods described above. This gun will do this repeatably day after day.

Someone should start making a kit for a bullpup conversion. Buyer makes his own stock, seller produces the scope mount and trigger assembly.
I’m in 😆
Start with the Marauder conversion
later
What is the glass bedding for , does it improve acuraccy?
Looks like the circular form of your baffels give the rifle more acurracy. I tried to screw the shroud of on mine bud it was very tight and left it as it was thinking I could damage it and wasn’t worth just for my curiosity 🙂 .
The clamp thingy on mine doesn’t touch the barrel so it could not affect acuraccy, so think of it of putting your rifle into a new suit.
Only the ergonomy is different and u have to get used to shooting it
thanks for showing
Dimi
Yea my S410
I just realized I might have exactly what I need to build my scope rail/tube clamp thingy.
Ive got carbon tube that slides over the air tube with a tight fit and plenty of good bonding epoxy for the stuff. With luck I might be able to find another tube that fits over my shroud then all its going to take is some careful bonding.
💡
That 410 is far and away the most accurate rifle in my entire arsenal, so I am hesitant to really start messing with it. LOL.
Heres a shot of the custom shroud during build. Its painted and finished now, but this shows the fit of the tubing.

Drawing of internal. Had the insert made by Greg Davis. I machined out the web between the first 2 chambers, to allow more air back into the shroud. The insert acts as the alignment bushing on the muzzle end. There is another vented bushing at the rear of the shroud tube, grub screwed to the barrel. ID of the shroud is .75″
Theres more not shown in the drawing. Attaching it to the airtube took some monkeying around and a shake of luck.

Heres one of the glass bedding project. The entire channel was glassed at first, but I removed the glass from the forestock. There is a brass pillar installed for the action screw. I used brass because that was all I had laying around at the time.

This rifle now averages under .5″ at 50 yards with 5 different pellets. Before the mods, it occasionally shot this well. The mods really snapped it into a consistent performer.
With the proper stock and scope rail, this would become a seriously wicked rifle.
Hey Riffraff
What rifle are you building it for, also your s410? look forward to see it
Dimi
Hot damn! A cable. How come I didnt think of that?
Thank you for the pics, thats going to make the build work once I get the tube/barrel/scope rail parts worked out. Mine has to fit over a custom carbon tube shroud and the OD is not ground. Gonna be a bit tough to make it fit just right.
Hey Ted, no problem I wouldn’t have to try that at my job eather.
I noted the add-on sound modifier. Any real change in the AA’s muzzle report? Is it available to the rest of the world?
Cripes….this guy is a mechanic, a wood worker, speaks more than one language, and I’ll bet he’s good looking too!!!
It ain’t right…it just ain’t right for one guy to have talent, brains, and looks. I’ll bet the women where he lives are good looking too. I just got back from Walmart. I saw a bleached blond that weighed at least 275 lbs. on the hoof, and would easily go 200 lbs. field dressed! She was in one of those electric fork lift/shopping carts that Walmart provides for fat people to shop in. (I’ve seen perhaps three or four really handicapped people using those things, all others were just to fat and lazy to walk!)
Anyway, she was wearing a sweatshirt that said “I see dumb people!” I wanted SO BAD to go up to her and say “You ignorant, turkey-necked, in-bred, triple chinned, whale…of course you see dumb people…you’re in an ARKANSAS WALMART!!!!!”
Damn good thing I’m in a happy mood today, or there might could have been some trouble!

Hey Hoot
Now now,I had some help from a friend and to comfort you ,there are some ugly woman here too 😉 . Bud fork lift/shopping carts for fat people hhahaha thats new to me. Arkansas, I saw it on the news here recently dead bird everywere I instantly thought of the x-files to bad mulder and skully are retired.
To come to your question, yes it really changes the muzzle report a lot.
I have no idea if stores will send to the usa, I know in some states they aren’t tollerated. Here we have the same problem its more kind of a grey zone here, but without one I couldn’t shoot my rifle at all because I am surrounded by neighbours and they will call our good friends so I take my chances.
I ordererd it at the same place were my rifle comes from, maybe you can ask them by e-mail
The one on the picture is the decimeater , I also have the weihrauch Internally they are practicly the same bud with the weihrauch I had pellet clipping problems, so went for the decimeater who has slighter larger opening.
The weihrauch have made their name for being the most quiet and set the bar, all other manufactures tried to make better ones but all failed maybe some are quieter bud they had to be bigger. For its size its the most quiet.
The weird thing is the design is very simple almost magical order, big chamber/small chamber/big chamber.
Here is a video from a guy showing the internals so if you can’t order one maybe you can copy the design.
Oh right ,you wil need the 1-2 unf to 1-2 unf adaptor to atach it to an Air arms also on the webstore.

You met Miss March from the Krispy Kreme collection???? Dang Hott you a lucky SOB! 😆

Hmmmm. I see you’ve done some router work – I like it.
Also, thanks for showing us the “guts”. I did see that when you posted, but I think my boss walked in and “changed the subject” when I was about to post.

I googled QB78 and it seems to have a very long barrel in compare to the airtube . If I would make it into a bullpup I even would think making the barrel even shorter or find a longer airtube.
