How accurate is my S410 Xtra FAC? Proof’s in the Pictures…
Turned out to be a good day to bench my S410 to see what she can do and not with 3 or 5 shots per target but 10 shot per target. I’m honest to say I did not put to much effort into this test just shot and waiting for the results: 7 targets, 10 shots each in about 45 mins including loading the magazine.
I did not go full power for this test because I would be going through my 4″ thick duct seal pellet trap and begin hitting my fence.
– AA S410 Xtra FAC .22cal
– JSB Diablo 15.9gr unsorted
– Power set to 1/4
– Start fill 200 BAR… finish fill 125 BAR
– 9*C, cloudy, no wind to slight breeze
– Target at 25 yards
– 7 target, 10 shots per target = 70 shot total with no refilling
– Used folding table and front shooting bag as my support
– Scope magnification at 24x
– DJ Tiesto’s Elements of Life video blasting away in the background 😆

Will do a 5 shot per target with effort at another time and date.

Hey RiffRaff, Thanks for your picture. I’ve done a search and read your post already, good right up.
I’ve done a epoxy bedding on my 10/22T years back so I know what I’m getting into and the consequences if I don’t apply the release agent well enough.
But I too want to get rid of that bit of wiggle.

You mean like this?
Not easy to do. Use a lot of clay in the parts you need to open back up, and find a 1.25″ diameter tube to clamp into your stock. You don’t want to try and glass your action, trust me.
Thats a brass bushing glued into the stock. The end the meets the action was contoured to fit the action tube, then fitted to the stock. The glass bed was done after the bushing was fitted.
Glassed and pillared. 😉

I just did a trigger tune last night by adding some extremely thin washers. I was amzed to see that AA had already polished all the contact surfaces to a near mirror shine. Then after I adjusted the trigger to my liking I added a small metal pin inside the trigger weight spring and eliminated almost all of the trigger’s aweful overtravel. I don’t have a trigger pull weight gauge but it’s nice and light and the trigger breaks like glass with just a mm of over travel.
The next thing I want to do is bed the action and maybe about an inch in front of the pressure guage.

😆 😆 and not even trying and that’s with 10 shots per target. I love it cause I know it can do better if I put more effort into it and no need for any mods.
Then I guess my old Condor did 3 – 4 MOA with only 5 shots per target and putting every effort into each shot cause I knew how hold sensitive the Condor can be, couldn’t even use my bipod so as to not stress the frame. 😉 http://talonairgun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8857&highlight=

It will get rid of the wiggle, its dead-solid now.
I took the tube approach because the tube I found measured the exact same OD as the rifle action did.
Also, getting the trigger area and the gauge area prepped to keep glue out would have been a total pain in the ass. I’m not sure I could have gotten away with that.
I’m sure you know what your doing, or else you wouldn’t have said you wanted to try it. 😉
Ive glued guns together before, and this one I would not take the chance on.
