Q:

How big should the hole be on a shroud

to accomodate 25 cal slugs from Jerry, these are very tight, and I think, it was not my scope anymore, but the shroud hole maybe a tad to small, any help is appreciated.

Some more about the shroud, its a Don G. remember him and I sent it back to him once cause it came loose inside and I couldn’t get it off, it came back and worked good, then I thought it was clipping so I drilled it out I think 5/16 drill bit and the internals got stuck on the drill bit and were spinning in there, but it worked I think, but if the internals move around do you think that is what is causing the clipping? And how do you take these apart?

Look at this picture, you can tell the shots in the bull look good and the one close to the blue tape at top, all the rest I believe to be clipping.

MAW, the rule is .020-.030″ bigger than the caliber.

So a 250 cal should be about .270″ to start and end at about .280″ if it needs to be bigger. Any bigger than that and the muzzle and exit hole in the shroud are horribly off center.

It has to be the shroud the bullseye shots perferated the paper cleanly, and the off shots were real ragged, fu&$*$*#( gun is really starting to piss me off.

That depends on how good the shroud was made and how good it lines up. With the barrel. I just made one for my .25 and it has a .272″ hole in the first cone and .282″ in the 2 others.

Real quiet at 960 fps with JSB’s. Haven’t shot it with slugs yet because I don’t have my valve in a tank anymore.
