How bout a SoCal group hunt y’all?
Man, I haven’t been out shooting in almost 2 years. Anyone up for a day out in the mojave or somewhere? Ice chest and hibachi.

“O” and be careful bringing any powder burners with you if you are hunting in and around the mountains up there. ( D8, D9, D10, and D11 ) You are in the led free zone. Air guns are ok but rifles and pistols have to be led free. That is only if you are hunting. 😉 Target practise is ok.
U r welcome anytime Pinguino, we let u know when is gonna b d next lead wave 😀 always thinking in surfing sry i cant help it 😳
btw r u gonna show us ur hunting spots dont u? 😉
im 5 hours north, in milpitas….but wouldnt mind the drive if we could make a weekend out of it or something. just 10 hours of driving is a bit much in one day.
maybe some of the bay area shooters would like like to join me, got a highlander so i could fit 4 plus gear (as long as you dont bring the longest rifle cases along with ya, if that then only 3 persons).
Cool Cygn i forgot u r in Cali now, u can come down anytime bro, a lot places 2 shoot here, but i cant guarantee u that u will shoot live targets 🙁
i duno if the problem is the weather, maybe the economy 😀 but we havent seen squirrels/rabbits not even f#@%$ crows 😕 who knows
if u wanna come, we can go on saturday, stay the night there & come back Sunday night u can bring Lee with ya he is in Monterrey i duno how far away its from u, shot us a text me or mav.
is it possible to make a weekend out of it next time ?

We were officially target practicing. A couple birds just happened to pass into the firing line.
Hell I can practically throw a rock to Lake Lsabella for where I live. Next time you guys go out drop me a line. I would love to go throw some led.

It was good 2 b out there, never been in Lake Isabella very nice place, a lot of places to shoot but no critters this time, but i dont care, we really had a great time, shootin the .22s, just hanging out and chiling , next time will stay in 1 spot only, & dont drive around 😀 hopelly Lino will join us next time 😀
pd i really liked the idea to put the table between the trees and wait for the birds 2 show up 😈
yeah been trying to track sacman down but he’s ignoring our voicemails and emails.
Just you and Renval ?
Good luck there. Cold weather extreme hunting! Renval and I trekked around most of the day yesterday in 32-55 degree weather from elevations of 3000ft to 5000ft. Desert, forest, and back. No rabbits spotted all day. We got our first kill of the day at 5:30pm but they were on random birds. lol.
It appears that the old rabbit hunting site in mojave is dead and it may be that the ecosystem with regards to water supply has changed. There is a new concrete storm drain at the bottom of the valley which appears to be to channel flash flood water away from roads. We believe it channels water away from the area and thus the rabbits cannot sustain. Dunno if that is right but there used to be a rabbit spotted every 20 minutes in past years.
Will have to find new places near some water source or something. It was just fun to be out there again shooting and having a good time. I believe this weekend…the area will heat back up to 90 degrees.
Gents; I finally made it to Wyoming. I was forced to stop last evening due to white out conditions 200 miles south of Salt Lake City. I drove to Rock Springs Wyoming today. Tomorrow I’ll inspect the horses further north. The rest of the team start showing up on Tuesday. The horses will be delivered at the base of the Big Horn Mountains on Wednesday. The killing will begin on Thursday.
There is lots of snow and ice here. There is much more further north. This will make the hunt easier as the elk will move from the extreme high country to lower altitudes. Our camp will be at 7,500 feet. We usually hunt up from camp but with the deep snow the elk will be racing to lower feeding grounds. They will pass our camp on the way down the mountain. We’ll be waiting as they pass.
I’d ask for luck but the weather has already given me that edge. I wish that I only shoot straight and that my feet stay warm during long days on the trail. AKULA
i pm’ed u guys the coordinates. I haven’t been there in 2-3 years. I can probably pick you up renval so we dont have to drive 2 cars.
its been a while for me2 since last time i went shooting 🙁
most of my time working and surfing.
I am not too far from mojave, where exactly would you go?>
Elk! Awesome! Ok, well lemme know when y’all can go next time.

Lee, yeah i bet he wont want to miss it, he is about 1 south of me, and was kind enough to take me shooting at his spot back a couple of months ago…which is empty for critters as well
