Q:

How fill probe works??

Just curious. I look in the hole where the probe goes but don’t see where the air goes? Any insight to a newbie? Thanks. Bill

Thanks Elmer Nice one,
I get my Mutant and my Cricket PROBES mixed up some times , I got to get some finger nail polish or something to stop the mix up,
Both look just alike.

Check out these two animated videos and it will give you an idea of how an airgun is assembled and how the fill probe works. Whoever made these video in CAD is pretty talented.

I think your asking how it seals the high pressure in the tank of the gun and when you take the probe out , How does it seal the air in the gun.
Really I think thats a good question, Like on my Mutant , You just stick the probe in fill it up, depressurize the hose and pull the probe out.
all that pressure is pushing on something to seal all the air in.
I am sure its all about the Orings.

very simple…. on the inside of the Cap the hole that comes from the fill hole. it is drilled and tapped to fit a screw the use a counter sunk screw and an Oring…

the oring is pushed up enough to let air in.. but when it tries to escape the oring seals up.

Shine a flashlight and you will see a tiny hole about the same size as the One on the probe.
