How loud is your shroud ??
I have no experience with shrouds , I purchased one and put it on my Condor with co2, It was still pretty loud, about as loud as my RWS 34.
In fact I spooked some crows who were feeding on the ground (I never saw them ) two doors down with the noise .
Whats your view on this?

hold over with your condor being so new you may want to hold off on doing that ’till you know there are no bugs that would cause you to sent it back to air force for warranty repairs, just a thought
GTBJ mentioned the vented bushings , I dont know if there is a certain way of doing that , looks like a few drill holes , but Im no gunsmith.
TT sells them with vented bushings for about 50 bucks more than a regular barrel . $ 225.
I understand the hammer slap and gun mechinisim is fairly loud and can be heard .

Is your Shrouded Condor just as loud as a un shrouded springer ?
What can I expect on HPA??
It’s quiter than a magnum springer. I can make it quiter still, but i like a short LDC.
HPA wil be louder. Take a look in the Shrouds and Moderator section here on the forums for Ideas on how to make it quieter.

I heard you guys talking about that before, But my Condor is only 2 days old and I dont even know where the bushing is , let alone vent it , 🙂
My condor is quieter now than when I first put the shroud on, I have no clue, I suppose it could be from the fresh bottle , after 30 40 shots were through it, it’s better.
the dog two doors down barked everytime I hit my target 😛 and my garage door was closed , but I think he was barking at the ping, or the pellet strike.
I was schocked at the power on co2 , I didnt expect much, but its burying 28 gr. eun jins into pressure treated 2×4 s
my springer’s wouldnt do that.
And the accuracy is just insane. pellet on pellet at close range , havent got out to the range yet.

Thanks for your replys guys , that kinda helped me figure out where Im at.
My first ten shots were almost no difference at all, after that It quieted down some , I really expected little to no muzzle sound on Co2.
As if you were to stick your barrel into a couch cushion and fire, just a PFFFFFFFFT.
Maybe I was expecting a little to much, I dunno.

If I had to describe it, it sounds like a pneumatic brad nailer or staple gun pressed into a thick foam sheet or pillow, with a bit of a metallic ping from the hammer slam.
Definitely don’t judge the noise indoors, the walls reflect the noise making it a lot louder.
My neighbor says he can hear me shooting from about 60 yards away, but 30 of those yards are over water, so it’s no surprise… if conditions are right, you can hear someone opening a can of beer from the same distance.
Generally speaking, I’d say it’s loud enough for people to pick up on in an otherwise quiet environment, but not loud enough to make people go WTF.
I made my own shroud with 1″OD aluminum tubing with 4 washer baffles and fitted over my 18″ barrel .22 cal Condor.
With the Co2 tank with CP’s 14.3 grs @ 650fps from the muzzle the report from the Condor sound like I’m using an air compressor and brad nailer but more on the muffled side. When I switch to the Hi-Flo tank… under 800fps then the report from the Condor is slighty louder BUT once I hit the 850+ fps then it’s loud, I’m guessing at this stage I would need a longer shroud/frame extender.
If I’m shooting from inside my rec room out into the back yard onto my “silent” pellet trap the sound of the pellet hitting the duct seal will be heard if all is quiet in the back yard and as for the report from the Condor… as long as my neigbourghs in their homes with just their windows open and don’t see anything they may simply think I’m doing some minor reno’s around the house. If they are outside in their backyard and enjoying the nice weather then I wouldn’t shoot at all just to keep the peace and avoid any knock on my door.
I took your advice Blue jay and shot it out in the open , it deadend the noise considerably.Some shots seem louder than others.
There is still some muzzle blast but I can live with it I guess.
I dont have a lot of confidence in useing HPA with it , But ill try it when I upgrade my rifle,
Im still going to order one of your shrouds in a few weeks/months , make mine extra quiet 😉
Without the shroud it will sound like a rimfire – or at least thats what my father in law’s neighbours thought….
I’d been shooting it with a shroud the entire weekend before and no one noticed it.
it still sounds loud to me, the guns are noisy. The shroud only quietens the air blast.
The hammer, tank, pellet travelling through the air and the pellets impact all make quite a bit of racket and cannot be reduced with a shroud. Animals hear all that and crow’s are jumpy critter’s as it is.
Your might get the odd squirrel who doesnt realise why his buddies are falling over until its too late, but I’ve never had a crow make the same mistake.
Blow guns are the only thing I’ve used that doesnt seem to bother anything so long as it hits a soft target.
I mostly shoot from indoors to an outside area except when I’m hunting.
I get used to it being quite loud as I shoot it from indoors, and then when I go hunting on a sunday, it seems silent again, with just the noise of the tank ping.
As GTBJ says, every now and then I get my wife to shoot whilst I stand off to one side downrange, and it sounds very quiet.
From the shooters end it sounds loud due to the little noise bouncing off the walls etc. Get it out in the field and all that noise goes….
nothing two dorrs down should hear a thing unless your shooting at them and they can hear the rifling spin

If you drill… do it VERY SLOW or I you will break the drill bit and end up having the tip of the bit stuck in the bushing.
What I did was use the edge of my bench grinder and grounded deep V notches round the outside of the bushing. You don’t have to do it all around but 3 or 4 deep ones will be good enough. Then take a fine file and smooth out the edges and you now have a vented bushing.
