Q:

how much power can be increased to Edgun

Dear Friends
I’ll try to upload my Edgun at full power, now works at 910 feet with jsb 18 g with a range of 52 shots while maintaining the 10 feet maximum variation. My question is how much it would increase the speed and power giving the maximum tension the spring of the hammer? . What is the maximum power that can be obtained and how many shots could do?. . “Edgun would do damage to the high power work?.
I would like to know experiences about
Alberto

The guns regulator is set for 130bar…. Too much hammer spring tension will
actually make the gun shoot slower and waste air…. If you want more than
950FPS you will have to turn up the regulator but I do not advise that…. 950
is about the maximum I have ever seen anyone shoot the 18.1gr with good
results… I actually can’t remember anyone posting targets over 30yds at that
speed so I am not sure if 18.1gr will even group at 950FPS past 30yds…

I have been messing around with my Matador long version. I found the best group when mine adjust up to approximate 915 FPS using the 18.1 grain pellets.

Each time I adjust the hammer spring, I do it slow like 1/2 turn each time, shoot a few shots through chrony to see where it at and do another few shots group to see if the group is good or bad and so on….

Once you get what you needed, you may need to re-adjust your trigger pull to where you wanted it. I have found lighter trigger pull seem to improve grouping, but do not adjust to sensitive, it become to dangerous.

I also lubeb the 3 o-ring on my gun, 1 o-ring in the rear barrel, other 2 small o-ring on the pellet loading cock which you can easily see.

Actually, my gun still doing very good groups even when I had it adjusted to 940 FPS, but that will reduced the number of shot count, so I decided to leave it @ 915 FPS.

Most guys keep theirs at 880-910 as that is where the best accuracy with
most pellets lies with this gun. Also gives a great shot count. Some do
shoot at a higher FPS. I know Rich in Mich likes his set a little hotter….
maybe 950 or so, I can’t remember exactly. You can go even higher,
but I don’t know what the Matador maxes out at, but I’m sure you
would want a heavy pellet and accuracy may not be the best. Don’t really know. Shot count will drop accordingly too.

Do a search here on Tag, or go through the post I saw several Edgun owners that are working on what you are talking about, I can tell you one thing look for the maker of the gun Ed he says where you are at right now 910 is to high, from what I have read around 880 is a good speed to shoot for.

Actually it is just below your post read what Ted posted!
