Q:

How short a barrel will fit?

I was reading the thread about the even shorter talon and didn’t want to hi-jack his thread. How short can a barrel be and still use the stock bushing holes in the frame?

Why not just push the bushing back a few inches and drill and tap two new holes in the frame to anchor it?

Put in set screws to plug the other bushing holes.

You can get a lot shorter that way and still have a rigid barrel.

Use regular Home depoe baffles.

It will still be powerful, you have a talon or condor power plant, so it will at least be faster than a comparable pistol barrel.

Put on one of the slim profile co2 tubes and a paintball car 15 stock if you wish. Or a slim line pcp tube doing the same thing.

Life is short it is only money.

feel free to hijack…

i just posted a rough drawing of what’s stuck in my head. I’m thinking 9-10 inch barrel, supported by an extended bushing that is also a set of baffles.

I think Guidotalondor is running a 8.5″ barrel?

Thanks Riff. Seems like someone should be making a bad A** internal bushing/baffle….???

I would think around 9″ would be possible if you made a 1 piece bushing/tube for the barrel to be mounted in.

You need enough internal support to keep the breech end stable.

Im not sure much less than 12″ is very efficient though.

Thanks for the reply Y.N.

Just under 12″ if you want to use both as shown by this picture.

You could measure along the outside of the frame from forward bushing screw hole to the start of the breech cut out to get the exact figure.
