Q:

How to check air in tank

I am new and would Ike to know how you check the air pressure in a Condor tank? I think they should put a guage on the tank like we do on DYE paintball gun tanks. Thanks John

Thanks, that is what I thought. It would be nice if there was some way to see the press while on the gun, or a gauge to screw on the tank that will read the pressure….. Sounds like a good option I may come up with and sell. We build the DYE paintball guns here in San Diego.

Its not a big a deal as you might think. With or without a gauge you’ll be aware of your maximum shot count (think m-rod or disco). With a SCUBA you can simply top it off whenever you feel like it.

Try searching for the ETac with gauge and fill nipple… 😉

Ops, I stepped on shooter while making an edit.

Same with SCUBA… you hear a click and the needle slows down when you equalize… You’ll get the feeling pretty quick after a few fills.

Use the gauge on the hand pump. Hook it to the tank and begin pumping but take your time watching the gauge neddle. You will probably hear a click at one point and the needle will jump up a little and back down. Stop pumping and read the PSI.

What happened is when the PSI in the pump or pump hose exceeded the tank pressure the tanks valve opened momentarily with the tanks pressure slightly lower than the pumps pressure. The tank having much greater volumecaused a surge at the gauge. The valve snapped shut quickly.

Now, each stroke will force more air through the valve and the valve will re-close but less abruptly than when when the tank pressure was first overcome.

The same happens when slowly filling from another tank.
