How to check your true mildot

There is an easy test to check where your true mildot is. 1 mildot is 1cm at 10m. Or 2cm at 20m, 2,5cm at 25m etc.

Test 1

at a known distance, say 20m just as an example. Shoot a 3 shot group. Then hold 1 mildot up or down and shoot 3 shots again. Now measure the distance between groups and if it is 2cm then your scope is true at than magnification. (Or 3cm at 30m)

Test 2

Either place an object or draw a circle that is, depeding on range (say we shoot at 10m this time, that would make it 1cm). Then look through your scope and check when the object is exactly one mildot (the circle spans between 2 mildots center to center) when the object is 1 mildot that is the magnification your reticle is calibrated.
