how to fill from SCBA tank
i think WOK has it in the quick ref…i dont understand what he means when he says “crack it”:lol: but i need more in detail step by step… also, how do you tell how much air is in the SCBA tank and how fast do you fill the bottle up.
im using an air hog 88cf 4500 with a fill whip connected to an airforce adapter…

Yup – thanks for the catch sam. First time I reply (and some might say 2nd, 3rd and on…) doesnt make sense, so I go back and edit and often forget to reinsert words.
This time I did notice I missed heat and thought I’d gone back and added it.
Filling fast creates which could damage the seal on the gun so it might leak and will mean when the temperature drops to normal the pressure will be less than you thought.

You can get a dead head which is a solid connector with no hole just to stop air flowing then and open valve to see whats in the tank.
i see…. damn, makes you think if the guys the fills ur tank really actually fills it full….
I use 80 cu ft scuba tanks, no gauge on tank, use gauge on refill clamp. When the airforce tank only fills to about 2500 psi, it’s time to refill scuba tank and I know how much air is in the scuba tank?
Some scba tanks have gauges, I guess some don’t….so when you can’t fill up the airforce tank to full (2800 psi typical) you know how much air (psi) is in the scba tank..

by crack it he means to open the scba valve just ever so slightly so that the air seeps into the tank insted of rushing in and over filling your AF tank in a hurry…so just keep an eye on your pressure gage and sut the valve which is just bairly open and bleed it off then unscrew your AF tank.. hope this helps

its just that sometimes when i fill my bottle, i accidentally will release too much air and fill it up to 2800 in a second…but I think its just that im not use to it yet…and then i thought maybe filling it up too fast may cause air to come out of the bottle when shot, to be inadequacy or inaccurate…
