Q:

How to get my cricket to the same speed as EDdie

Like to get my std 22 Cricket to run in the 930’s as my EDgun. HOW TO DO? Good balance between shot count and consistency is desirable.
What do you say?

The accuracy went with increasing speed… Probably needs polishing of barrel to accommodate the higher speeds. Going back to 900 for now.

Buy an Eddie and sell the grasshopper

forgot to inform, the reg has 17 washer/disk, normally in older model has only 16 washers. when I tune a .25 to 70+fpe it must have 17 washers/disk to achieve that fpe shooting a 43.1g pellet.

Be careful when porting out the air valve air port—> make sure you remove all the metal shaving/particles from grinding, if it gets on the plastic seat it will leak and you have to turn / lap a new seat.

Just a thought, they probably don’t calibrate every reg to exactly 130 bar or whatever so therefore the wide spread of settings on our guns while still performing the same.

I’m there now but it’s hard to say what the reg is set to… If I compare it with Ville’s “calibrated” regulator so are mine set to approx 150bar (backed 90deg from stock)
Air valve 1/4 turn
Nylon spring guides
Imppu’s hst adjuster
Left to do, try out and cut full-power spring to suitable length to give adjuster usable range.
Give transfer port a ones over.
Barrel polish, maybe later…

This is my setup for a .22 standard shooting 18.1g 930+fps:

1: reg set around 135 to 140b
2; air valve spring 1/4 spring tension.
3: air valve port angle ported and enlarge.
4: 2 1/4″ spring from the .25
5. Metal Spring guide with no recess
6: barrel polish to 50,000 diamond past

It is an easy fix for Ernest. Has to do something with the valve spring, hammer spring and the reg adjusted CORRECTLY to play in unison. Ernest will likely chime in and spread some light over the subject.

Fellas….its easy to get mid 900’s…..shoot the 15’s 😉

JK…uh, if you guys are maxed out on reg pressure and cranked all the way on the HST(at least before fps starts to fall) maybe you need weaker Valve stem spring and or stronger hammer spring. Just out of curiosity have you made sure your barrel port hole is lined up?

i am on the same boat, brothers, mine was shooting at 840fps,and i push the hammer about 1/4 inch. and speed climbed up to 870 fps.and than…..i dont know what to do. so please Mr ernest we need of your wisdom

More hammer? Even with a sledgehammer it won’t go over 900… To that approx 140 on the reg and valve spring 1/2 turn tight.

Give Ernest a call. Fixed up mine real fine.
But before doing that you did try to see what more hammer would get you

I’m sure Ernest Rowe could make that Toyota run like a Lexus 😀
