Howbout these numbers???
After solving a problem wich kept me from adjusting my top hat, and fiddling arround with fill presure, PW setting, valve spring retainer nut, tophat, and whatnot, heres what i got from my rig…
AirForce Condor With standard Talon valve (and condor hammer weight removed)
Fill Start 2600psi, end 2000psi
Barracuda match (aka Kodiak match) 21g pellet
PW 2
No aditional “mods” or custom parts, only carefull adjusting.
HI: 892.1 fps (37.2FPE)
LO: 853.8 fps (34FPE)
AVG: 875 fps (35.8FPE)
ES: 38.5 fps
SC: 40 shots

Thanks, about the graph, its easy to do in MS excel, just type the numbers in a vertical row, and select the graph option.

I think it was either Sawtime or mamcrackin that found that the hammer needs to be lubed correctly or it will show jumpy numbers…
I never lube my hammers, I go with a dry hammer and find lube in it’s natural state 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

OK, tightened the valve spring nut all the way in, moved PW to 5, filled to 2800psi instead of 2600, and this time i used 15.3g Gamo ProMagnum pellets, cause im running out of barracudas.
I DID measure velocity of the barracudas with this setup, and avg is 865fps.

Shots: 60
The stats for the first 30 shots…
LOW: 939 fps
HIGH: 960.5 fps
AVG: 949.5 fps
ES: 22.12fps
Stats for full 60 shots…
LOW: 897.5 fps
HIGH: 960.5 fps
AVG: 933.7 fps
ES: 63fps (pretty good for 60 shots at 29.5FPEs dont ya think??)

Of course velocity with 21g barracudas will go down, i measured it at 865fps avg. with the new setup, But the important thing here is, that i CAN get 40+ shots with less that 40fps of spread, and 60 if im willing to accept a 60fps spread (wich im not) 🙄

I can tell my hammer (from the factory) is not lubed right at all, it’s that or a sticky valve stem, there is no real concistency…
I have changed barrels but have yet to pull the hammer and the power wheel out for a once over, clean and lube.
This may straighten things out, I know in testing it made a huge difference to haver a well lubed hammer… 😉
Fill to 3,000psi and replot your curve.
Cack got in frame and you are getting a bit less strike?(though this would produce more erratic fps)
Happy with fill gauge?
Suddenly got alot more humid or wet where you are? (air expands more slowly in heavy air, this has effected my fps by up to 75 fps before)
Happy your re-fill was dry? (water build up in tank will cause fps drop)
Chrony in the same position as before,with no muzzle wash?

About less strike, the consistency on the gun is OK, i only want to “catch” the power curve from the low part.
Fill gauge, i got two of them (scuba adapter and pump), bot give about the same reading.
Humidity, i live in Cancun, its VERY humid, all the time.
Chrony is steady, and im shooting from the bipod, aiming at the same spot (i actually put a hole on a concrete block from shooting at the same spot. lol)
I have no problems with power or consistency. In fact consistency is exellent, all i want is to catch the power curve from below, like i did in the graph i showed you guys. Instead of only going down. But since i ran out of PW (it wont go any lower) i dont know what to do.

I have two gauges, one on the scuba adapter, and one on the pump. They only disagree with each other by less than 50psi.
Check breech orings and lube?

Your fill gauge might be bad giving your wrong fill reading.

Something went wrong 😥 😈 🙄
Yesterday i was enjoing my gun, and shure enough, for 40 shots in each fill the POI was completely the same at about 70yards. the first tin of barracudas went like this, then i started to notice POI change, up just after refilling, and low at about shot 25.
A quick check with the crony confirmed my fears. My beautyfull power curve was GONE. First shots started at about 950fps, and went nowhere but down. (instead of slightly up and then down as before). And after about 20 shots, velocity was down by more than 60fps.
I tried the lowest PW setting on the gun, and nothing. I just cant start on the low side of the power curve anymore 👿
Even with the PW as low as it will go, velocity goes nowhere but down once you start shooting. I CAN make the gun shoot slower, but no matter to what velocity i set it up for, the string is the same, going down.

Of course i triple checked everything, and nothing seems to have moved, i used loktite on the valve spring retainer nut and top hat.
So i have a question for you guys, and im really hoping someone can help me out here (before i take this POS and throw it in the garbage)….
How in Gods name, im i supposed to start on the low side of the power curve, once i run out of PW adjustment?
I’d buy it, I like to get 40 shots that consistant and that is pumping plenty of power.

Thanks, TH is about 0.1″ (waaay open). I tried settings as low as 0.03″ but consistencywas not as good, or i got fewer shots, of fewer FPS. This was the best setting i could find.

My hammer as a very (and i mean ***VERY***) light coat of silicone grease, and only to prevent rust from appearing as i live in a very moist enviroment.
I just “touch” the silicon grease with my index finger, rubbit against my thumb and then rub the hammer with my fingers.
