He has those valves made so you don’t fill your tank to fast.

I will throw out a few thoughts.
My pal has a 80cf and small pony tank. When filling off the standard 80cf dive tank with standard setup..there is little or no control of the fill speed. Its almost full on or full off. Not a nice slow easy fill, bang, on or off.
When filling off the litttle pony tank, its a nice slow fill. No on/off, does not matter if you open valve fast or slow. It fills the guns at a slow regular speed, almost as if it regulated. We have both noticed this effect
I dunno, the little pony is a Joe Brancato setup. Perhaps he has worked some magic on the valve system. Might be worth a phone call if you think its a real problem.
I like my booster. I use it to pump up the helium tank once in a while.
I setup the reg you sold me with a SCBA fitting and tether with it mostly. I have a 1 to 3 manifold so I can tether 3 guns at the same time.
At least your doing it with someone you love JD.

I guess one might lower the pressure less than 100 lbs to drive the booster, but its hard to reg much lower. I wonder if you could short stroke the booster to keep the temp down. If not, topping off the 4500 tank is the only option.

With my Booster pump that Doug now owns, I ran it with one tank.
I split the air off from the tank and ran one leg thru the regulator and regulated it down to 100 PSI to operate the booster, the other leg went into the booster cavity at above 1000 PSI to be compressed.
I have not been able to find a booster like the one I sold to Doug. I do see a used Haskill for sale on the same site where I purchased my old booster.
THere is a fellow selling boosters on the Adventures site also.

Mr Newbie has sorted it out, the heat is caused by filling too quickly and damages the little Oring in the nipple.
This is probably caused by moving the toggle lever too quickly, but I don’t remember for sure on mine if moving it slowly worked better or not, or if it mattered.
I think the cure is to have two 44’s, one with a full 4500 fill and one with the lower fill to operate the booster, then just top the higher fill tank off each time you use it and don’t fill directly into the gun.
I sold mine to Doug long ago and don’t have it here to try.

A Joke from several months ago.
When you pump air down these little air lines all the air is forced into the fill nipples…fast which causes heat….enough heat to melt the nipple rings.
Is always best to blow air at those nipples slowly, savor the moment.
Blow air at them slowly, warm them up gradually.
Yes, this also happens in the cold…oh sorry..different scenario.. 😈

i don’t have anything figured out (a thought would blow my head off). Tell me more about the nipple o-ring problem.
The 44 is usually topped off with shoebox and I have been using it for my AF and FX. The other cylinder is one I will use to supply air to the booster when I’m away from my shop compressor. As for all the gauges, I’ve just acquired them over time.. 🙄
I’m really just laughing at myself for having so much invested in HPA for a Ranger 45 I still don’t have. I have unlimited options for air though! 😆

When I first got my Ranger 45 I went up to my old mountain place with three 44’s, a Pygmy tank and a booster.
I shot the three 44’s down to a unusable PSI level for the Ranger in no time and then swithced to the Condor and started shooting ground squirrels.
After a while I got bored with the Condor and went back to the Ranger.
Being new to the Booster, even still flinching some when I used it, 😛 , I tried filling the Pygmy and then filling the Ranger 45 with it. I soon learned that was not going to cut it.
So I filled directly to the Ranger and soon found problems. While the booster filled a 44 cf tank slowly, it filled the Ranger way too fast and I was soon burning thru nipple Orings.
I see you have that figured out already on your cart by having two tanks.

Question for anyone with a ranger 45. If, with say 4300psi fill in the gun and after let’s say two shots on high power with a 375-400gr bullet…how many top-offs to 4300psi could I get from a 18cf guppy tank at 4500?
