HPA regulator adaptor, right In thinking?
The stock airforce c02 adaptor Is designed for use with c02 to quieten down the big power rifles right? Yet were using this adaptor to try to push high power, well some will be. Would I be right In thinking If the volume of the chamber was increased so would muzzle velocity?? So Isn’t there a bigger adaptor available that will give more power with the lower pressure regulators?? Just a thought and maybe I’m on the wrong lines but seems logical to me 😆

I will admit my standing shots need more work but I rarely take standing shots as I prefer the long distance shots from prone position.
Nice grouping…I also mostly shoot prone with bipod and a pad
under the grip…..My standup offhand sucks…I am fortunate to
get a 2″ group at 65yds…I just need to do it more to build stability
in the small muscles….It just isn’t as fun when the groups are big
so it is hard to make myself practice offhand…..
That’s dam good shooting, I will not be able to do anything until Saturday at the earliest.
I when I was shooting my stealth with the standard bottle I had it set up for 50 yards at sub 12FPE. I found the sweet spot and would have quite a few shots at the same power before the pressure inside the bottle changed the POI.
I posted the link below to show the accuracy at the distance of 55yards with 5 shots.
I do not think you will get this consistency with higher powered shots from the standard bottle as the pressure inside the bottle will change so much with a handful of shots.

I now have a harris bipod fitted so getting the same accuracy at greater distances. Just need to get my Wokbutt fitted securely for more comfort and control.

Well this didn’t take long. Not gonna waist air on a shot string.
Airhog 2,200psi reg, PW 2/2, JSB 18.1…0 mph wind
5 shot group at 65yds…This completes the testing for today….
I can’t do that with the AF tanks..

I have to pump my bottle with a hills pump so only shoot to kill unless going through a setup process. If i get the time over the weekend i might put a few through for the sake of this thread but dont hold me too it.
I use the same reg as fusion.
I did post a string a while ago but there were not many shots taken. with time (10-15 shots) the reg i use settled down.
I know fusion is UK based so thought this info would be of use incase the regs are not up to scratch.
As and when a reg is available with a spread of 2-3fps and putting out 2000psi i will sell like a hot cake but until then my money stays in my pocket.
You’re right brutus….The JDSairman and the Airhog took some
tinkering to get them to lower the SD. I wouldn’t advise buying
either unless you are ready to do some maintenance…I don’t
remember what the SD was on the AF tanks. Maybe you can post
a string so we have something to compare to….Heck I might do
that today..Got nothing else to do….
My co2 adapter crapped out so I can only do the Airhog, Talon,
and Condor setups….Battle of the air systems….Man the best
man win…
Mamcrackin – I am sure i read here about another setup with a spread far greater then yours. I did take a (quick) look for it but could not find it.

Your spread is better but at 18.4fps but is still very high, in my opinion, for a regulator.
Taking out house flys at 65 yards is some dam good shooting

Consistance was the reason for the regulators not power…
If I could do 30 shot 1 hole groups at 100yds with a 500fps MV I would be happy…
Accuracy is more important than power IMO.
I also agree that anything over 1,000fps is unnecessary….
If you never try anything different you’ll never know any better….
If your regulator has a 40fps SD then it is trashed….I wouldn’t shoot it either….

The stock AF tanks not only have a power curve to deal with but a fairly large fps SD…
You should be able to make up your own opinion from this info…
1 last note….I have killed house flies at 65yds with the Airhog setup…
Thought so. Reason I ask Is I have the 1400PSI reg but only the 12″ stock barrel and I’m not even making 650 FPS?? Consistancy is smack on but the power, well…….. I want more. I upload the spring tension and get a tank dump. I’ll wind the spring retainer In more In the valve to compensate this and I’m back to the power that I started with 😈 If I was getting 40 FPS variation between shots i wouldn’t bother with the regulator. I was getting much better than that with the stock valve!

But the consistency with these regulators is quite poor and I personally would stick with the normal setup and have a predictable curve.
I say this as someone with a regulator that gives between 3-5fps at an output of 780fps with a 21.4gr .22 pellets. That gets you a lot more fps with a 14gr pellet…
To be honest, for those of you hunting with .22 pellets I don’t see the point in going over the 1000fps level.
I consistently get head shots on bunnies at 100-110 yards with this 1400pis regulator and know where every shot will land. Don’t see that being so easy with a regulator varying in excess of 40 psi from shot to shot.
However if these companies come up with a consistent regulator it would be worth the purchase.

The use for CO2 is to allow for an alternate power source, lower power for more shots per fill.
The HPA setups as sold by JDSairman and Airhog allow you to use a regulated supply setup at what ever pressure you want to run. With those setups fellas are getting over 1,000fps which is as fast as required for most pellets.
So the power is more wrt the pressure for that volume.
If you wanted to run a lower pressure then a larger volume may indeed give you more.

I find that the fore arm grip is too short for my frame and can not get into a comfortable position when standing. I doubt very much that i would get 2″ groups at 65yards standing.
To help with this i am trying my best to desing a fore arm grip that will give more comfort for a tight standing shot.
Once i have this design ready a memner here has offered to do a 3d image for me. If it looks like it will work i will have them made as i for one can not shoot this rifle accuratly at anything over 30 yards when standing with out something to rest against.
