Q:

HST driving OAKS NUTS

Love the Matty .25 but the HST lock nut keeps loosening up today it was shooting at 777 from 910 to 915. Ernie says loctite blue. I just want to drill a set screw in it and say enough’s enough.

Thanks Greg. Think somewhere along the line I once did that just have not been shooting or on my guns in about a year..

Bignuts, Bluenut, Peanuts and them Numbnuts seem to be all the same, they need degreasing.

Not sure which HST u got Oakey OEM or the one from Ernest/John ?

If you got Ernest HSTA I’d take his advice and blue lock it after giving the treads a bit of degreasing/cleaning out with denatured alcohol.

If u still got the OEM u’d might try adding a O-ring between the lock nut, a Buna-N 90 (don’t lube) with a smaller ID size then the shaft.

Also in conjunction with a 3mm hex u can add a piece of weed whacker cord cut at an angle or a cut off a O-ring (don’t lube) and placed into the small lock down for the HST, seen here ….

…… … so Houdini where have u been and what else beside an Edgun do u shooting ?

~ GReg, p.s. the trick is not to use any grease/lube anywhere throughout in the affixing only on the HS.
