Has anyone purchased this newer Hawke scope? They have taken the best of the 1/2 MD and SR Pro reticle in the new AMX reticle. Still heavy but I wondered how the lens are. TIA

I have returned a half a dozen Hawkes until the clarity was the best. That said the good ones I have rival some of my other premium scopes at less than half the cost but are still not quite as good of optics wise but they are designed for airguns. It’s strange but they still rule the Extreme Benchrest competition here in numbers and frequently win or place high.
I would just like to say that buying a Hawke scope is like a lottery, you can get really good ones and really bad ones. The best thing is to go to a store and look through the scope yourself, I bought a sw 8-32 and the front lens was damaged, so I had it replaced with a sw 8,5-25 but this scope was the worst. It could not focus and get a clear picture over 20x or so. This scope was sent back for a refund.
Now I have placed an order for a japanese made scope and will never again buy made in china scope…
I do have several scopes and i have to admit that i hardly use the magnification pass 10X, i have two Hawke tactical scopes and i have never use them pass 10x, my next purchase will be a fix scope, im between the SWFA 10×40 and the Hawke Tac 10×40
Cool Hemn. Thanks for the info on the Edgun scopes. Does he manufacturer them himself? I must confess my pest/varmint shooting is really more like target shooting. Normally, it is from a bench rest or Caldwell unit. I am so practiced (many years of prairie dog shooting at hundreds of yard with high mag scopes) at finding targets in a big hurry at high magnification that it is a non-issue. That said there are times I do crank it down to 8X like nighttime.
Is there info online for Ed’s scopes like prices? I wonder if they are available here. 34mm tube? When I pick up an Ocelot or other PCP pistol or mini PCP I will go much lower on the magnification. I have a Hawke Panorama 4-12 on my P-Rod with a 1/2 MD reticle and really like it but something a lot lighter would be nice. It has a very wide field of view.
For sure,,,that is correct,,, whenever i asked for a high magnification,,,, the experienced guys use to ask me,,,why? do you shoot a targets all the time?? or hunting??
but,,,i had lots of target shooting when i started with PCP…. but always put my Hawke scope at 10X ,,, never went to higher magnifc… and i tried targets most of them at 50 mtrs , 65 mtr, 75 mtr & 80 mtrs ,,,,
but still it depends on the person, how he get used to shoot or hunt ,,,,
But for people who don’t hunt high magnification is really nice. I target shoot and just orderd a 8-32 scope to replace my 3-12

as you know, higher magnification = less Field of view, which is not suitable for hunting at all,,,, when i started using PCPs,,,i use to buy or wish for owning scopes with bigger objective, higher magnification, longer tube, higher turrets,,,,these are just a craziness and i was not having hunting experience,
i believe if you buy the new hawke 2.5-15X50 TMX, this one has a 120 MOA adjustment for both turrets,,, and lighter than that one you mentioned,,, also the reticle is better see below reticle of new Hawke 2.5-15X50 TMX
last month, one day went out for hunting pheasants, with my Long Matador .25cal, Hawke 8.5-25X42 SF, i got more than 10 chances to shot pheasants ,,, but only could hunt two pheasants, i was really disappointed,,, i didn’t know what is going wrong with my gun??!!!!
when i came back to home,,,,and by chance look at the magnification,,,, i saw my hawke magnification moved to 14X,,,, i usually set on 8.5X,,, i was angry too much,,, i know i had to check everything before going out ,,,but this never happened to me ,,,and i did check all whenever i when to hunt,,, even before seeing any bird in the hunting field ,,i check my zero then start hunting,,,,but that time passed on me,,,,
so, we never can say that we will not face such situation,,, we are human ,,,and we may forget things ,,,,
now,,, i am using my Edgun Scope 10X44 SF on my STD Matador .22cal ,,,, with great MPR reticle,,, i am avoided to repeat same mistake,,,since my Edgun scope has a fixed magnification at 10X,,,and never worry about this ,,,, also it is very light and small in size,,,,,it has a MIL/MIL adjustment, about 370 clicks, only after using this scope i became to know that how important the wight, size, reticle, clarity and other features for hunting trips,,,
i don’t believe that i never go to any other scopes, i asked Eduard to send me 6 scopes,
now Ed has produced 2nd Generation Edgun scope,,,, 12X44 SF, 34mm tube, new reticle MPR2
this is the 2nd gen ,,,
now, i prefer fixed power scopes with even less magnification,,, like 6X or 8X with either 44mm or maximum 50mm objective,,,
with less magnification you will get more flat shooting trajectory ,,,

I have a Hawke SW 8-32×56 SR Pro on my .177 Compact Cricket always set on 32x except a night. 😆 I like to see their whiskers. Off-hand, though, is out of the question w/o a rest.
Nice reticle! soon im gonna be on the market for a new scope for my my next gun, i wish Hawke makes lighter scopes, there are great but damn heavy.

I think hawke scopes are good value… I just don’t care for the reticles they offer.
