Q:

Huma regs for crickets?

Has anyone tried or heard of these regs in place of the stock reg? I was looking to purchase a factory and came across these. I’ve heard the Humas work wonders on other guns.

I had a lot of issues with my cricket when I received it one of the first things was I had a massive extreme spread over 100 fps I found that the brass nut that holds the small inner o ring in place was very loose. I tightened it, polished the spring washers, and di some extensive adjusting and now my extreme spread is no more then 9 fps in rapid fire or slow. the cricket regulator is very hard to beat if you put the work in.

maybe you just missed the point that Humas get lot of praise but it is mostly from people installing them into UNREGULATED guns.

… usually it is not the reg (if you are into accuracy problems) and as Robert Lane says, the last thing you touch is the reg.

The cricket reg is one of the best ones out there, don’t touch it, if it’s not broken!

Frankly i have used it in a BSA Scorpion and CZ200 , unfortunately by lapse of time will cause creeping velocity for insufficient breathing as there is no breathing hole drilled in the air tube. The case is different with the cricket as there is a breathing hole in the tube. I have shot my cricket more than 3k shots without any problems in the reg.

cricket Regulators are very good…. You would have to be ill to swap one out for a Huma regulator.

Ive used both and honestly the cricket is better. huma regulator don’t Flow as fast as the Crickets… The recovery rate is way to slow.

Cricket is already regulated, is there something wrong with the one in the gun already?
