Hummm, things I think abut when I try to sleep!

I posted this on another thread in answer to a question on casting there, but I thought it would cause a bit of thought here on Other Guns!

“Syn, If you read the Cast Boolit forum, (Yes, that is how they spell it LOL!), you will see that many have tried to cast in .223-224 with few doing it justice. Seems the small dia. doesnt’ want to fill out well and give good consistent weights.

The .257 takes a bit of finess as well. 😀 I don’t EVEN want to try casting the .22’s any time soon. but you know me. I probably will eventually!

I’ve been saying that a .22 bullet in a powder burner bbl. should do just fine. but was told here on the TAG years ago that in NO WAY would it work. When I voiced my thoughts, I was either ignored with no responses to it, or was told NO, IT WILL NOT WORK!!! Well, We’re doing it with the .257 Bullets just fine thank you! And the Drummen Sinner is makeing big waves across the pond in AG BenchRest Matches. Yep, In .223 and .303. wouldn’t you know it! After they said it couldn’t be done. 🙄 😆

What’s bad about being ahead of your time, is that every one forgets you when you prove your Ideas valid! 😥 Buuuuut, guess who’s laughing now! :rofl:

I also said years ago that we should build a wooden stock to stiffen our frames. Nope, won’t work they said. Well, a few tried it. Damed if it didn’t work!

Now I want to use a 4500 psi bottle reg’d down to 3100 for shooting cast. Nope, Won’t work! Buuuut, Just a couple of weeks ago, some one here who knows how make a good reg. thought about it and said Hummm! Next move, put the bottle under the barrel hanging from the frame and shorten up the stock to make it a BULL PUP! Hummm!!!, Or have a second bottle in the rear just as it is now but with a reg, with the bottle in the front feeding it as well. Oh Hell Yes!!!. Now we have a REAL platform in the AF configuration for Big Bore with more shots on tap than any other big bore on the market.”
