Q:

HW97 .20 … Pellet preference.

Just picked up a blue laminate .20 on the classifieds. Been wanting one for a while.

I need to get some pellets ordered for it. What do they prefer?

Personal preference is Exact, but I hear they don’t much care for them.

Thanks Rob.

First quality springer and I’ll be damn happy if I manage to shoot groups like you have there.

Those aluminum parts add even more sexiness to that already sexy springer. I need to shoot it a while to evaluate it’s worthiness of custom parts. 😉

Here are the pics the seller provided.

ATP… I have the HW97LK in .22.

I almost trashed this gun when I first got it because I couldnt find anything to group in it. CP’s were shit, Exacts… forget it.

Of all things, RWS HP’s grouped great it in. Up to 35 yards, they did great. I’ve since found that FTS’s do just as well….. I’d give the FTS’s a try in it.

Congrats… very pretty guns, the blue laminates.

I don’t keep CPs around. The metal tins left a bad taste in my mouth… I know the boxes are better. 😛

It was cheaper per pellet to get 4 tins of FTS rather than a box of CP so I went that way.

Thanks fellas.

Give CP’s a try. BFTS and CP’s are very similar

They do make FTS in .20 maw. Which is apparently the pellet of choice for many 97 shooters. Exacts seem to shoot well too. Good news, shoot them in everything I own and haven’t been disappointed.

Oh, yes the ol.20 well now thats a problem, don’t know to much what they have to choose from, I know they have silver stings and crosmen premiers

mine is a .177, and it likes H&N Field Target Trophy very, very much 🙂
don’t know if they make them in .20, that could be a party crasher 😉

fts may work good.
