Q:

Hybrid Breech

I made a breech for my old .308 that had a .070″ aluminum shell on it for safety. I wanted to make sure it didn’t pop on me.

Well today I finished a simular breech but this time it was so the nob is threaded into as much aluminum as possible. I had a guy strip out his breech before he even got to shoot it. I’m learning that it is hard to make these things fool proof.

It is .165″ thick half way thru and then steps to .080″ the rest towards the tophat. I don’t want to make them like this but in the long run it might be easier. I have never striped one before. I put green or red loctite on them. I used green on this one and I think it’s a little to old and didn’t setup. They only need to be loctited and hand tightened.

This one is for a .257

Glad to see you have some garage time again Doug :biggrinn: . Any progress on the 200 grain .308 slug lead in or the trigger setup in the new frames?

That’s Really good looking Doug! and I’ll bet it is STRONG!!! 😉
