Q:

I am a official member of the BP Club

Well after much anticipation my Walnut or “wood” .25 cal Cricket arrived today from….*ahem*….AOA. Everything looked good upon opening the packaging, the 2 mags were there, the wooden cheeckpeice, a fill probe, and some spare o-rings. The gun also had about 100 or so bar in it. Also in there was a test target shot by AOA at 23 yards and a 10 shot (I think) shot string, according to their string the gun is shooting right around 940-950 fps using kings.

I shot a couple mags through it mostly to test function and everything seemed good, it had a slight ping, but I guess that is to be expected when your ear is right up against the breech. The sidelever is definitely a good bit more gritty than my old AA S510 and Rainstorm II for that matter, but I think it will smooth out a bit with more use. The trigger was better than I was expecting, it has a slightly longish first stage and then breaks somewhere (if I had to guess) around 1-2 lbs. I may or may not get around to possibly tweaking with it a bit, but I am far from a trigger snob so it may take me awhile .

After just shooting some old 2×4’s a bit I was dying to see how the accuracy was so I threw on a scope and set a target out to 55 yards. At first the shots were going all over the place. So I decided to perform normal maintenance before I continued any further. So I took here inside and removed the shroud and proceed to run some goo-gone soaked patches through the barrel, it wasn’t super dirty and only needed about 10 patches to get it squeaky clean. The crown and rifling looked great so I re-installed the shroud and went out to try again, this time I moved the target in to 40 yards as the wind was gusting very erratically and I din’t think it would be fair to the gun. It seemed like the barrel cleaning did the trick as it started to stack those kings into one little hole at 40 yards, but alas it was dark and windy and I decided to call it a night…

Some things that I was pleasantly surprised about was A. the stock I received is the “new” extended Bulldog which I had no idea I would be receiving until I opened it up :biggrinn:. B. As I said the trigger was better than I expected. C. I got a numbered gauge. D. I am not sure if this was standard procedure or not but my stock has dual fixture points to the gun: one on the bottom of the pistol grip, and one under the forearm.

Anyway here are some crappy cell pics, I hope to have a update and some better pics by tomorrow. Cheers

It doesn’t connect to the action though… 😉

One screw and the action separates from the stock.

Yup… goes all the way through the grip from the bottom of the stock to just under the air tube ands it has like a really thick washer on the thread end.

This screw under the handle extend all that length?

Don’t remove the one under the pistol grip, this one is to add strength and prevent cross grain cracking. To remove the action from the stock it’s just the one under the forearm. When reinstalling don’t over tighten this screw, I usually tighten and back it off about 1/4 turn.

Nice 25 cal BP !

Thanks, it’s pretty crazy about the stock, like you I had just only seen the new stock in some pics from IWA and SHOT just a few weeks ago. According to some documentation that came with the gun it was manufactured mid December 2013.

Hopefully the weather will be nice tomorrow and I will be able to :4: some groups 😀

I have the same under grip screw on my synthetic bulldog stock, it doesn’t make it to the action. Does yours?

25cal is a sweet platform, should do well out past 55 without issues!

I’m not sure about the screw I haven’t “undressed” her yet 😆

Yeah I’m really looking forward to stretching it’s legs and making some shots way out there 😀
