Someone give Hoot their pickle.

quote Hoot:

Can I hear an “Amen” from all our Jews?

HYFKM… 😆

I just bought a new Mac laptop (had to for my work), fucking things are stupid expensive…

It’s a good thing they come with the new hj & bj feature call iJerk for porn surfing…

I think it really helps ease the huge price tag, I hit the button a few times after I got it home and setup it, slipped into the most peaceful slumber, Steve Jobs has really outdone himself this time….

Talk about customer service!!! 😆

quote Hoot:

and their pickles are absolutely unbeatable!

I am sure if you ask nicely they will let you beat their pickles 😀

Will one of you assholes please tell me about that sandwich??????

Computers are a dime a dozen…a decent deli, on nine grain, or whole wheat, is worth discussing. Especially if it has horse radish mustard on it, and those Valsic white, kosher dills! The ones that “crunch”!

Can I hear an “Amen” from all our Jews? Those folks do several things exceptionally well, and I admire them for it…they got balls the size of watermelons, they make excellent warriers, they kick ass as needed (sometimes just for the hell of it), and their pickles are absolutely unbeatable!

Hoot 😯
“14 million Jews can’t be wrong!”

Li-ion and Li-po batteries don’t have the high internal resistance that the NiCd and NiMh batteries do and therefore don’t self discharge within a few days. Li-ion and Li-po batteries can be charged and left alone for months and they’ll keep 80% of their charge. Leaving it plugged in won’t hurt anything because the charger will continuously trickle charge it as needed.
No worries on leaving t plugged in 🙂
All of my helicopters use Li-po (lithium polymer) batteries. They have better performance for fast drain than the Li-ion batteries but that is what they’re designed for. The Li-ion batteries will give much better performance than the old NiCd and NiMh batteries could ever imagine.
The people at Best Buy do NOT work on commision, which is nice. You don’t have to worry about them trying to up sell you on everything you want to buy there. Stay away from the $30 USB cables though… Not necessary. 🙂 The cheepies @ walmart work just fine 😉

Quote from Rev. “Plus you are getting the much better 6-cell Lithium-ion battery, (another upgrade. $40.00)” End quote…. A question on batterey life. I almost always leave it plugged in. Is that bad? I know on the old Ni-Cad batt. you wanted to cycle them so they wouldn’t take a set and would fully discharge and take a charge. But I read the Li-ion don’t suffer this problem. What do you guys think?

Duplicate post sorry. See below please. Guys I really want you to know I appreciate your time it takes to give me your advice. Thanks again.

Not sure what they put into it.
I am sure that it has 2 slots and if they filled it with 2 2Gb memory sticks, then you would need to remove both and put in 2 4Gb sticks to upgrade to 8.

As far as a performance gain, there would not really be any.
It would just give you the ability to run more stuff at a time and dozens of very very big pictures open at the same time, video editing could use it perhaps.

4Gb is plenty. 2.5Gb more than my home PC has and I can edit video just fine.

That video card is a $100.00 add-on with the normal Dell website Inspirons.
You are getting a real nice package for the money.
Plus you are getting the much better 6-cell Lithium-ion battery, (another upgrade. $40.00)
and 4Gb Ram which is yet another upgrade ($90.00 ) from the base 2Gb from Dell (expandable to 8Gb).

similar system direct from Dell but with an Intel processor would set you back at least $650.00

I can add another 4 gig of ram later or I would of needed to have it made with 8 to begin with? What type of performance gain would I notice going from 4 to 8 (ASSuming I can add the four gigs later)????

Thanks Tef. I think I like the idea of spending $500 every two or three years Vs. $1000 every four to five.

Sam – Laptop Graphics cards are very rarely upgradeable, whether they are plug ins or not. The reason for that is that there is no real set standard for the physical designs of the cards, unlike with regular PCs. The best that you can hope for is to find a card from the same manufacturer that is designed for a more powerful laptop that still uses the same chassis/case.

Thanks Y.N. I like learning about this stuff. Is it safe to ASSume if it has a dedicated card, the card can be upgraded or is it hard wired in?

Laptops generally have lower powered processors compared to desktops – in addition to the already lower powered processor they usually have to take care of the graphics aswell because they have onboard graphics and processing/memory is . When they have a dedicated graphics card it takes a load off the processor/free’s up memory and will usually give you better graphics too.

Most off the shelf desktops come with “onboard” graphics too – but they have the room to upgrade to a dedicated graphics card, while laptops dont so if it doesnt come with it, theres no easy way to upgrade to it.

Well I was hopeing for a few more opinions, but I guess with 70 views and no one has thrown up a red flag.

Seems good to me – discrete graphics card is pretty nice in any laptop, especially at that price.

Y.N., or anyone in the know. The salesman made a big deal about the graphics card too. Would someone please tell me WHY it’s such a good thing? I just had to take his word for it, as I didn’t know. Thanks in advance for the education. 😀
