I lied!
I gotta print a retraction.
In the post below, I claimed 315 FPE from my 9mm homebuilt gun.
At the time it had a 17 inch barrel.

I converted it to a 26 inch barrel and I cant get anywhere near 315 fpe, no matter which barrel I use.
I think the crony was giving false readings.
Now: With the 26 inch barrel, I get 980 FPS with 90 grain bullets = 190 FPE
Using 150 grain bullets it gets 820 FPS for 225 FPE.
Sorry for the false report!

P.S. I got a 45 cal, 33 inch, barrel coming in the mail.

cool pic Mark. I have a second hand 9mm conversion on my Condor for inspiration, so I can relate to that “splatted” bullet. Mine has a few quirks but is fun to shoot when it is doing right.
I figure the .32 has a really useful range of projectile weights available for air power and a little better BCs than the 9mm in equivilant weight. looking forward to warmer weather and a lot of testing. 😈 😀

It hit an aluminum plate at 980 FPS.
It’s completly turned inside out.
See the hole in the center, this was a hollow point.
It measures .085 thick.
Thats a .22 kodiak in the picture, for a size reference.

.32 sounds like an interesting caliber. What weight bullets are available?
Man, when I get a new barrel, It comes out of the package and directly into the lathe, no delay!

.320 roundball (single “0” buckshot) is right about 45gr, don’t remember the exact.
bullet moulds commonly available from 75gr up to 180gr or so, thanks to the .32 being used in both BP Rifle and pistol calibers throughout the years. I’ve seen pure lead cast bullets available for blackpowder cartridge reloading several places ranging from 100-180gr.
Too many projects, not enough time. lol.

still some darned good numbers Mark.
Can’t wait to hear about the .45. I’ve got 24″ blanks here in .32 and .45 that I just haven’t gotten around to fitting up and modding valves for.

honest and still very respectable #s , i questiond your numbers with the 17”barrel , since i have about 15 9mm guns , but i never doubt there are people that know more then me ,, hehe
i have one with a 31 ” barrel , it gets in higher range but most are under 200 fp for short barrels .
